I was going to post in Beauty & Fashion but I'm interested in ideas beyond clothing.
I work at home in a drafty old house. Here's what I do already: Run a space heater under my desk Wear long underwear top under sweaters (but don't love the texture and hate the pants) Wear LL Bean slippers during the day (like these: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83162) Am considering: Wool tights Merino long underwear Heated vest Also, maybe considering: Iron supplements Going back to work in an office What works for you? What's the thing you couldn't get through winter without? |

Hats and wool socks.
|
| How is your iron and tsh? |
+1 Wool socks and wool clogs as house shoes |
| Get one of those mug warmers and constantly drink hot tea |
| I don’t like space heaters but I have a plug in heated pad for my chair that works well (heated vest would have similar effect). I also drink hot water or herbal tea pretty much constantly. |
| Have you had your thyroid checked ? |
| My DH bought a throw-sized electric blanket (maybe 4'x5') for himself. He wound up not using it so I have been laying it over my feet when I'm sitting or lying down. I have never used an electric blanket before and I am in heaven. |

Heated scarf has been a game changer.
Also electric throw blanket works better for me than a space heater. And I got an electric kettle to keep at my desk for hot tea. |
| I used to live in Scotland in a cheap apartment without central heat. The only way to stay warm is movement. So get up every 20-30 minutes and walk around the house, move the laundry, go up the stairs, anything, and you'll heat up. |
Read please. A “drafty old house” like OP’s in January will defeat anyone’s thyroid. Especially when you have to set the thermostat low like I do to avoid a $600 Washington Gas bill for my 1910 uninsulated wood behemoth |
| Uggs |
|
I have Reynauds and my house is cold. In order of usefulness:
1. Heated throw blanket. Use it all day! 2. Ugg style boots (Costco brand) 3. Wool socks 4. Wool long underwear tops 5. Silk long underwear bottoms 6. Wool or cashmere or alpaca fingerless gloves Keeping hot water for drinking in a thermos is also extremely helpful, and make sure you eat hot meals - soups, oatmeal, etc. …no salads or yogurt or ice cream. Dress for the weather. Layers with wool sweaters and polartec fleece really work. |
| A heated blanket is the best thing if you’re just sitting in one place. |
| Iron supplements sure. Slippers, rug in dr r your feet. I live in smartwool socks and ski thermals all winter when working from home. |
