I don’t tolerate whey/casein protein powders and have been struggling with finding vegan powders tasting palatable enough to drink daily, and this was one has been great!
The only issue, and I can’t tell if it’s something in the protein or something else in my diet, ever since I started this, I find I have to run to the bathroom after, and then I’m bloated for the rest of the day. Here’s the ingredients. Does anything stick out?
I’m also eating more protein at the same time, more eggs, Good Culture cottage cheese, Greek yogurt. Could it be this? Trying to isolate the issue. |
| Maybe try eating real food? |
I do eat real food, I supplement with this for protein intake. I eat three meals a day, I simply also mentioned some other protein-heavy foods I also eat at each of those meals. I’m eating mainly protein and fruit/veggies and complex carbs. |
| It's probably the pea protein powder, can cause bloating. |
|
Protein powder is famous for causing bloating and flatulence. How can anyone not know this?
Pea protein is really toxic. I'd avoid that. |
why do you need so much protein? people have really gone crazy |
| I think protein powder and protein shakes are trash. If you can’t eat that amount of protein through actual food, maybe you don’t need that much. |
| Nothing good about fake stuff like that. Avoid. |
| Why are you trying to up the protein so much? Eat real food and cut out all these crappy supplements. |
| I don't know why people think protein powders are healthy and necessary. They are not. Stop eating that junk. |
| You are specifically avoiding whey/casein protein powders but you are eating cottage cheese and Greek yogurt? Perhaps the issue is that you don't tolerate ANY protein powders vs. just not being able to eat the ones with dairy. |
| I would change types of protein powder. I use whey so unfortunately no recommendations for you. |
| I had that issue with whey protein, so I stopped using it. Maybe it's all protein powders. Try cutting it out to see how you feel. |
| I’ve only ever known one person who used protein powder, and the main thing I remember was that it caused horrible bowel problems for him… |
| I’d let the protein powder go. It’s not working for you. |
