Malaysia Airlines Flight Goes Missing En Route to China

"James Kallstrom, a former FBI assistant director, said it’s possible the plane could have landed, though he added that more information is needed to reach a definitive conclusion. He referred to the vast search area.

‘You draw that arc and you look at countries like Pakistan, you know, and you get into your Superman novels and you see the plane landing somewhere and (people) repurposing it for some dastardly deed down the road,’ he told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday.

‘I mean, that’s not beyond the realm of realism. I mean, that could happen.’

"Instead of manually operating the plane’s controls, whoever altered Flight 370’s path typed seven or eight keystrokes into a computer on a knee-high pedestal between the captain and the first officer, according to officials. The Flight Management System, as the computer is known, directs the plane from point to point specified in the flight plan submitted before each flight"

The plane disappeared from radar at the point where handover changes from Malaysia to Vietnam ATC. They signed off with Malaysia and Vietnam just assumed the flight was delayed. It was an hour and twenty minutes from the last radar contact before Malaysia airlines was told the plane had never come into Vietnam airspace. Very deliberately planned to get a head start without anyone knowing. Also on a weekend and middle of the night - less likely to have people who can immediately jump on it and start searching, only required staff would be on duty.

This was very planned and very deliberate by someone with experience as a pilot.

I've developed an unhealthy obsession with this missing plane, so I'll throw in my theory into the ring after following this story for 10 days,

I think the pilot was on some sort of suicide mission (or just went nuts finally this one flight) - one last hurrah. But, since he was an avid flyer and loved the simulator, instead of just nose diving into the ocean, he wanted to try some simulations he had practiced at home just to test the systems and push it to the limit one last time. He programed the turn west and decided to see if he could then fly north (or south) without radar detection until he ran out of fuel and crashed into land or sea.

The idea of the plane being hijacked just doesn't make sense. If the plane was to be used as a bomb - the hijackers could have easily flown into the tall buildings in Kuala Lampur, or Beijing during the flight. The effort to land in a stealthy way, refuel, and then take off again to be used as a bomb is just too large an endeavor. And as others have mentioned, why the 777?

Mark my word. The pilots are "players" - they depressurized the cabin, killed the passengers and sold the plane for parts. They will get hundreds of millions of dollars, and the parts won't show up until they have to be replaced.

Which pic are you going to use when this is right and on point, unlike you?

My husband thinks the airline planned this because they are almost bankrupt and will claim the insurance money.

Glad PP finds this amusing. Hope you don't know anyone on this flight. Nothing amusing about the fact that they were flying undetected (higher altitude than normal); depressurized the cabin, dialed the oxygen masks, and basically hijacked the plane themselves.

If you have ever flown an airplane (somehow I doubt you have, but I have) you know this is a possible scenario.

So sad for all involved. But by all means, go ahead and keep making light of it. You ignorant yahoo.

What are you going to do with the bodies? It's easier to sell folks into slavery than bury and/or hide the bodies I'd suppose. With the rate of decomposition a search would turn towards a stench.
