War with Iran Part II

Now Iran is re-imposing restrictions on the Strait because of repeated breaches of trust? If I didn't know better I'd say Trump was on his best behavior until the stock market closed for the weekend and now it's back to crazytown.

It was entirely predictable. The next step is that Trump will lie about some big breakthrough this weekend so that he'll be the one that gets to decide to open the Strait. In the meantime, it's historical that the US is the nation currently terrorizing the world with the blockade.

This whole war is also a pump and dump scheme.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said Donald Trump “talks too much” as he reacted to the US president’s threats that American forces would “start dropping bombs again” if no deal is reached between Washington and Tehran.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey, Khatibzadeh said: “That’s president Trump talk, he talks too much, he said contradictory things within the same statement.”

That’s hilarious. They actually see him for what he is.

I can't think Trump was stupid enough to believe that Israel wouldn't continue its campaign of war crimes and destruction in Southern Lebanon. They won't stop until it's another Gaza.

It is only open while the ceasefire holds. Trump better accept the surrender terms dictated by the Iranians- unfreeze Iranian assets, pay reparations and remove bases from the region. The nuclear stuff should be of the table unless the US and Israel give up their nuclear weapons and enriched materials.

Good grief. You truly think Iran has the upper hand here?
What have you been smoking?

If the US has the upper hand, why does it have to make concessions to get the Strait opened?

Wat actual concessions has the US made?

We're blockading Iran linked ship traffic. 90% of Iran's economy depends on those ships getting through.

DP Who told you that? Iran has borders with road and rail. Pakistan and Iraq are its friends both will received and ship goods for Iran. Wait till a Chinese flagged ship fills up with oil and sails past the US blockade. How about an Australian ship. You think Trump will stop an Australian bound ship with the gas crisis in that country? Truth is they will say they stopped 14 ships today but it never happened. One thing this administration does is lie about everything.

The US does not have the ships, air coverage or cooperation of any other nation to run a blockade of this size. In the Cuban missile “quarantine”, the US used over 200 ship including 8 aircraft carriers for 500 miles radius around Cuban. This blockade is magnitudes larger.

The blockade is a Trump distraction. Just like Trump said tariffs have brought in over trillion dollars and created 10 trillion in foreign investment in the US. The US navy will stop a 1,000 ships a day and Iran will be wrecked! In reality Trump has accepted Irans 10 point plan and get nothing in return.

Meanwhile Iran is using access to the straits as a way increase trade and break US influence with countries throughout the world.

What a total and complete defeat for the US. This is an unprecedented defeat for the US and a total disaster for Israel.

Land routes cannot even remotely make up for what they're losing by not having a viable sea route with a blockade going. Iran does not have capacity to move oil over land in any reasonable volume.

Also, Australia isn't a problem. They haven't been buying any meaningful amount of oil from Iran. And I guarantee Australia isn't going to try and make a thunder run past a US blockade. The US isn't quarantining all traffic. That's not the mission. They are only stopping traffic coming from Iranian ports.

Bottom line still remains, sea routes are Iran's economic lifeblood. With the US blockading it, that's a huge liability for Iran.

What the f do you think the US is going to do? Blow up tankers? This blockade is a joke. Do you really think Iran will keep the strait open if there is a blockade?

DP. If Iran tries to close the strait (again), they will have major pushback from the entire world. They don't control that strait. Freedom of navigation is a core tenet, worldwide.

bBC reported just 22 minutes ago that because Israel broke the ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran gun boats have fired on a tanker trying to exit the Strait.

You don't really close something you do not own. It's like saying a terrorist reopens a street just because they stopped shooting everyone who walks down it. We don't say "terrorist reopens street". We say "terrorist stops threatening the area."

It's a bit inaccurate to say that the US was engaged in war with Iran. Would it not be more accurate to say that they were engaged in a terrorist campaign against Iran?

No, it actually wouldn't. Attacking a belligerent, fanatical, tyrannical, murderous terrorist state in order to get it to stop being a terrorist state is hardly engaging in a terrorist campaign. But nice try.

You’re talking about Israel, right?

There will be no ceasefire or stoppage to the store unless our commander in chief Benjamin Netanyahu says so

The US is currently engaged in a terror campaign against Iran and now the world.

No, Iran made it very clear they wanted the USA military to end the blockade of their ports. When they didn’t, the tentative deal fell apart. Plus it’s annoying to the entire world when Trump openly lies about things out loud. So they had to smack him back into place.
Now they aren’t even willing to hold talks.
It’s kind of cool to see Iran acting like the adult to trump’s ridiculousness. I’ve been waiting for someone to finally stand up to him.
Well, it would be cool if people weren’t dying or having livelihoods destroyed.

Trump is so erratic they can't trust anything he says. How can they possibly have a solid deal with a guy who lies or is so demented he can't remember what he's doing?

What you have to trust is the troop movements more than TS posts.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed again and Iran is shooting at ships.

Trump will continue his folly under the delusion he can get Iran to capitulate to his maximalist demands. He’s a dunce who had no plan for the war because he believed Iran would immediately capitulate to him.

Is it possible both USA and Iran are manipulating market and war just for money?

During a ceasefire agreement. Trump imposed a blockade on Iran. A blockade is an act of war. The Iranian control the strait. The US and Israel bombed Iran for over 30 days and could not open the strait. Facts on the ground. Trump can say what he wants but the strait is closed till the blockade is removed. It is a very reasonable position.

If the Iranians were smart they would make the same demands Israel and the US are making. Israel and the US will have to give up their nuclear weapons and enrichment programs, UN monitoring of all sites, destruction of long range strike capabilities(tomahawk missiles, etc) and stop funding/arming of Israeli/US proxies in the regime(specially the ones who attack Iran). This would highlight the craziness of Israeli demands. Why would Iran disarm with Israel and the US in the region? As soon as they do Israel/US will slaughter them.

Oh and the two week ceasefire ends Monday. After that the strait closes again and the war starts up.
