Middle Tennessee State University has fired its Assistant Dean of Students over inappropriate comments on social media concerning murder of Charlie Kirk.

This employee has been fired effective immediately. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Kirk family.

What conservatives are slowly figuring out is that liberals own guns too. We just don’t mind being accountable for them. Unhinged psychopaths can be republican, democrat, or anywhere in between. Anyone can illegally acquire a gun in this country. But Rs have always thought they were relatively safe from gun violence because they think Ds don’t own guns. But we do. And when they unleash our own military on us, they need to remember that those “2A rights” apply to us as well.

To be clear, this isn’t a threat. I am not somewhere or someone under attack by this regime, and I have never even picked up a gun. Just an observation.

I'm going off the comments that I see in this thread and the "thots and prayers" comments from friends. The online left is radical and speaks for the party. Do I think they actually represent most liberals? No. But they dominate discussions. Even otherwise reasonable comments from liberals on this contain "but...." rather than just a denunciation. I don't even think they believe it. I think they are so cowed by the extremists in their party that they have to say "but..." in order to get away with expressing any sympathy.

People on here are saying he wasn’t a household name, but I think for people 50 and under, he was. I’ve seen a lot of people (mostly social median home decor and mommy influencers) posting about it on Instagram, the Yankees held a moment of silence, etc. I am a little shocked to see this much of an outpouring of grief and support vs. the Minnesota catholic school shooting.

Is it because he was well known, and because we saw the actual footage of it happening and it was so violent? (I haven’t watched - so terrible this is out there) would people care more to actually do something about mass shootings if we saw them happen?

I just don’t understand the gun obsession this country has.
