Out of conference, McDonogh is really good. Culver obviously is great but IMO they're more like a Salisbury/Lawrenceville/Loomis type team now with post-grads so a different weight class.

I've seen plenty of good/bad/average with our own team and also every team we've played against. Even Ireton last week was frisky. Talent is diluted throughout the area so lots of parity. Last night GZ had a seven goal lead on PVI and PVI closed within three in the fourth quarter. Seems like anyone can beat anyone this season so teams like GC, Dematha, GC and even The Heights have got to think they can make some noise in the WCAC. If you qualify for the tournament you def have a shot.

I agree w/ this rational GZ dad take, which is rare for DCUM lax comments. We played Ireton yesterday and to be fair only had a 3 goal lead in 4th until we pulled away, but they were much improved compared to last year. The top WCAC teams don’t have the separation from the pack like last few years. We will find out soon enough how we stack up against GZ, SJC, and GC but anyone who says this years playoffs are anything but wide open hasn’t been watching enough games.

Blows my mind how people still list GC above DM in this forum. DM beat GC comfortably, beat SJC, took Bullis to OT. They are the real deal.

GC has a win over avg Paul VI team. See what they can do vs Prep tonight.

I’m going with the Lil Hoyas tonight.

Prep wins 10-8

One of the bigger lacrosse games in recent GC history tonight.

Contest tonight vs the Lil Hoyas will be a good measuring stick to see just how far this Falcon program has come along under Dane Smith.

Good luck to both teams tonight, should be a great game!

GP has made some interesting changes. I'm not sure when but the 2028 goalie has been in the net for more than just the last 2 wins. They may have sacrificed a few early wins for the future. They've also put the junior attack on the bench after the start in favor of the talented 27 transfer from Lville. GC has some good offensive players but it shouldn't be enough to beat a still very deep GP team.

--your kid may not mature/grow physically and may not make varsity by 11th grade
--your kid may make varsity, but the coach may prefer someone else at his position
--your kid may lose form/interest and lose playing time
--the coach that recruited you (or just attracted you to the program) may leave
--your kid could get injured or just lose interest or just get fed up with all the BS that comes with club/school lax around here

If any of this happens, would you STILL want your kid at that school? For me personally, answer is yes. My kid has D1/high D3 aspirations and I would love that to happen for him but no way we would transfer from his current school if any of the above happened. Lacrosse was part of why we picked the school but it was one of many factors and not the most important, at all.

No idea if this "many SJC players want to transfer" thing is real or not but FFS no way I would uproot my kid from his school, teachers, friends and other activities just because it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for him on the lacrosse field.

It’s not true. Someone’s always post lies about St. John’s. Either because their kid didn’t get recruited or the school they choose lost to them.

Kids are transfering out - Kids are transfering in mid-season. Blah blah blah

Hasn’t happened.

The toxicity comes from outsiders. St. John’s will be fine.
