Actually not an excuse. It's the complete opposite and provides context. Take the tall draw girl off of HG or any other team's best player, and they will struggle. This team hasn't. If they stay together, the team will be really good. If they don't, there will be multiple strong teams in the DMV.

That is exactly the point. When the Capital team struggles and drops in rankings they still have the BRAND that helps them when it comes to recruiting. I have zero doubt that 27s and 28s from Capital will go on to amazing lacrosse programs.

I wish all of the other programs discussed the best of luck but if it was my kid they would only be considered once Capital was off the table.

As someone else mentioned the real question is really if you make Capital Orange do you take it or go else where. That is the tougher call.

Not really. Cap Orange does just as well from a recruiting standpoint. Has been well documented.

The updated ratings math that will come out today or tomorrow will clearly show they struggling recently.

One, they now have 4 local area type schools (for universities that want to have exposure to Wash/Balt recruits) that are clearly better as teams than Capital is now. Whereas normally it might be just one, and another might be proximate. So now the competition for those spots from the area will go up about fourfold, and against a lot of better talent.

Also, that they each have so much difficulty scoring, that is not going to be a good look for all the offensive players. Which in large part encompasses a majority of the teams.

Last, because they have so much difficulty scoring, it may be difficult to get much traction to improve their standing and looks/brackets while they're now playing 20 something or mid 30s teams for the tournaments that have set their brackets. If they were high scoring and defense was more of an issue, against those opponents they might be able to get the delta up on games to allow them to move up brackets in later tournaments. That doesn't seem likely now. So they may be looking at outer fields, against low competition, while coaches take coffee or lunch breaks or get a peak at the top 2028s for example in the '27s case. Fine, the 2028 and 2027 teams are not as good as the teams before them. Why does that mean the Capital Lacrosse Club, with all its success and no organizational changes as far as I am aware, is not worthy of top consideration by the best 2029 players? Please explain this to me.

This is an interesting two-part analysis.

On the first part, I don't know that I subscribe to the area teams competition concern. It's a national pool

On the second part, knowing more about the 2028s than the 27s, I believe that they will be improved on scoring this summer coming out of their high school seasons. I think you can count on that. Playing in the third bracket will facilitate this improvement. They won't be squeezing through M&D and Hero's zones and build momentum--even though it is not ideal for positioning for the recruiting.

The team in the Fall will have solved this more fully, in my view.
