2029 Girls

Can someone explain to me why we should all believe that because Cap 28s are inferior to previous Cap teams, then that means the club is going downhill and potential Cap 29s should beware?

The 2028 grad year is weak in lacrosse talent compared to 2029 PERIOD. It has nothing to do with the program/philosophy there...look at the MDDC 28 team...is there even one?

Fair question? Anyone?

The 28s are not weak compared to the 29s. Look at all the 28s who made an impact on varsity teams at the big private schools in Maryland. Many of the good 28s from here left for Maryland years ago. The M&D DC team was started with the 29 team, so there isn’t any teams older than that.

I think it is fair to say that the 29s are more heavily stacked with talent and depth than the 28s. No hate, but there are far more really talented, not saying elite, but very talented girls than the DMV 28 class.

I think unhinged MDDC parents who are desperately trying to save the team to keep their daughter relevant is orchestrating/puppeteering behind the scenes. They already tried that last year. They know their daughter won't make Capitals so they're trying hard to keep the team together for their daughter. Kinda sad imo. I honestly don't think Capitals care who comes to tryouts. They'll field a strong blue team and maybe a lesser orange team and will develop them all. If all the top girls from the clubs join Capitals, then it could be two strong teams for them for the 2029s. Let the girls play well and develop and trust the process at whichever club they land.

If a parent is willing to go through so much for their daughter, I'm ok with that. Let's just do it with some class without launching a smear campaign against another club. Then you will look less crazy.
Can only assume you mean it's time for the Cap crazies yo lay off MDDC? Right???

Well, the 2030s are way more stacked than the 2029s. Peace and love.

None of very vocal supporters have anything to say here?

This is a tough question as many of the stronger 28s migrated to Baltimore teams and had little interest in staying around for capital, which directly impacted how the 28 cap team was configured. If you are specifically talking about cap 28 then I would agree that if the 29s keep their talented players for capital they will have a stronger team. But in the end it’s a crap shoot as to who makes capital and how good they will. Then you also have to factor in the KJ decisions.

This is not true. Md dc was not started with the 29 team, they bought out Next Level and every Next Level team was rebranded MD DC.

You’ve missed a big point. M&D DC was started this year with a buyout. That buyout rebranded most NL teams except the 29s which is now a stack club team. This is their first elite club team. The 29s are not a rebranded NL team.

Downhill would refer to back to back (27s and 28s) subpar teams. It’s not a one off year.

Respectfully to all my M&D DC folks, but a #11 ranking and a rather decisive recent loss to HG doesn’t support “elite” status. I think an elite team at 2029 is a reality, but it’s going to take some rejiggering.

M&D DC lost maybe their best player to significant injury just before the playoffs. They still beat SkyWalkers then lost to HG in semis. Not saying they are super team or that they will all stay but they are really good, no doubt.

It’s a team sport and those are excuses.
