I think he's a ducking moron for not taking a plea deal. The only bright spot in that is that Jill Duggar (forgot her married name) will get to testify on what he did to her as a child.

The psychiatrist in me knows how cathartic that will be to get to put what happened to her out into the world, on record in her own words where it can't be swept under the rug by her terrible parents.

It's interesting that the other 3 daughters are not going to testify. I'm assuming that the prosecution knew that even with a subpoena they would be uncooperative witnesses. As a prosecutor, you never want to have to treat your own witness as a hostile witness.

We still don’t know if Jill is testifying for the defense or prosecution.

Yeah, and I read the post on Reddit from someone who was in the courtroom today that Derek (Jill's husband) sat with Anna and was friendly toward her.

I would be shocked if Jill was for the defense, tbh, but you never know.

I'm most interested in seeing which side Jed testifies for. Is he going to be the one who tries to make the defense teams theory come together? Is he going to break rank and throw Josh under the bus?

But away, both are just listed as potential witnesses, so it doesn't mean they will 100% testify.

Reading the Reddit and FreeJinger threads, Josh's defense seems to be attempting to legitimately argue that he is too stupid to know how to partition a computer, and that he was using the dark web to sell cars. Because it totally makes a ton of sense to sell vehicles on a platform whose entire point is that you are anonymous and the buyers can't find you.

This made me pause, because you’re right. There are accounts of josh admitting/ confessing what he had done to the adult in charge more than once- it sounded like he told Bobye what he had done without any prompting, and it sounds like he freely admitted the thing with his sisters to his parents. He was crying out for help. And didn’t get it. And now he is this monster , when he probably didn’t want to be.

I'm pretty sure the sisters snitched on him first, and then he confessed. Who knows what would have happened if the sister (presumably Jill) never spoke up about it.

Imo it doesn’t matter if sister snitched. He was still a child who was failed by the adults in his life. It was an adult’s responsibility to get him help. You say who knows what would have happened if jill hadn’t spoken up but she did and pretty much the worst thing did happen.

He has been an adult for several years and if he felt the desperate need for help you are suggesting, there are ways he could have have obtained that confidentially. He did not likely do so, because he perhaps had no guilt or believed he could pray it away or get away with it, whatever....in any case it does not matter. He is responsible for himself and his behavior. He's going to prison for a very long time.

The DD video was fragmented, and was not viewable, but after the evidence that came out yesterday, the reporting is going to stop saying “kids as young as 7,” as that is not accurate. If you want to hear why, feel free to watch yesterday’s coverage of what happened in court. He tried to blame two close friends, who weren’t at the dealership when it was downloaded. Also, the feds found Josh’s name and address in the partitioned side of the computer.

I’m fairly confident he will be spending decades in federal prison. His enabling family members can rot in hell. It’s obvious they don’t care about girls.
