House Cleaning Rates in 2025

Hi,
We just got a quote of $160/biweekly for regular cleaning of our home. The lady said she will be coming on her own, and it will take about 4-5 hours. Our home is a little less than 2000 sq. ft., 3 levels, 2 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms. We also have 2 dogs. Is this a reasonable quote? Should I shop around more to see if I can get a lower quote?

Thank you in advance!

That sounds very cheap to me.

That's $32-$40 and seems reasonable to me, especially for a 2-bedroom 2-bath house.

I pay $180 for a 3 level, 3 bed, 4 bath house.

We pay $200 for our 8600 sqft (3 levels) home. Two ladies on a bi-weekly schedule. We keep up with the daily clean/maintenance so takes them about 5 hours to do the whole house. No complaints!

You're all cheap as hell.

This is exactly what we pay bi-weekly for similar house with 2 messy kids. 2 person crew takes about 2 hours. I think it’s a very good deal.

Reasonable. We pay that for a little bigger house. Messy kids. It's a team of 3 and they take 1.5 hrs. If it's just the owner it takers her way longer.

I pay what the cleaner asked me to pay. $40 an hour is actually a very decent wage. It takes virtually no skill to do the job.

Feel free to make your cleaner the beneficiary of your 401K and life insurance for all I care.

We are paying $250 for bi-weekly cleaning. Our housekeeper typically brings 1-2 additional people with her. 3,200sqft house.

We pay more than that for a similar sized house.

We pay $195/biweekly. 3600 sq ft, 3.5 baths, 3 bedrooms used regularly. Upper NW, 3 ladies, takes about 2 hours.

$225 for a 3900 square foot house bi-weekly. 3 pets.

Was 2 women, now 1 because one of the women is now too afraid to leave her house thanks to ICE (this should be another topic).

Such a strange comment. If your mechanic decides to quote you $50 for a job that another may charge $200, are you "cheap as hell" for going with the $50 mechanic?

If they have good references, that sounds very reasonable.

We have a very similarly sized house, pay $150 every other week for about 3-4 hours of work (3 people for a little over an hour).

Yeah, until the cleaner takes the steel wool to your stainless steel appliances or Windex to your upright piano. True stories.
