What is the dad’s height/weight compared to son’s?
DH is 6’0 and was 150 lbs in HS. Son is 6’3 and 235! |
Dad is 5'5" and maybe 140ish.
Son is 5'6" and maybe 130. |
Dad is 6'1 (well more like 6'0 now), well over 200 lbs but in HS was thin (maybe 160? I don't really know).
Son is only 5'10. Boo. Weighs 165 or so. |
Dad is 5’-10”. Son at 16 is 6’2” 180. Dad at 18 was same height maybe 165 lbs. I have some height on my side. We are actually hoping for another inch and another 20 lbs. |
Dad is 6'4" and 185 lbs in college (now 220)
Son is 6'5" and 195 lbs in college |
Why are you hoping for another inch and 20 lbs? Sport related? |
Dad 6'0" 200
Son 5'7" (not sure) DS has a few more years left to grow. How do I help him gain those inches? |
Most people have a pre-determined genetic height, but it can be influenced up or down a bit based on life circumstances and nutrition during the growth years. My kid is really into his protein and his sleep. Both will support reaching max potential. But I hate all the "protein" products with weird stuff in them, so we cook a lot of great breakfasts and dinners at home. Sashimi or a whole roast chicken from the grocery store is his favorite "fast" food. He can devour a whole one after practice. He also eats lots of carbs because he is super active. Growth hormone is released during sleep. Getting 9 or more hours when possible is great. Healthy in many ways. And good posture can't hurt? |
Husband is 5'11 - 6' 185lbs
DS 19 is 5' 8'' 160lbs 5' 9'' is our son's predicted final height, but you never know. |
Dad 5'11, 160 in high school
son 1- 5'10 130 at 16 son 2- 6'1 139 at 14 The men on both sides continue to grow until 21, so the boys have a bit more growth possible. I am 5'7 |
Sleep, protein and low stress |
Lol, I don't remember my 5'11" husband's weight in college. And I'm 9" shorter than him, and my son is about 5" shorter than his dad. About exactly as tall as my dad at 5'6" So...no height bump in the current gen. |
Husband is 5’8, son is 4’6. But he’s 9. |
Weird thread. Sons usually take after mom’s height genes. |
Not true at all. |
