It sounds like MLS NEXT is innovating again.
Any other changes that have been shared? MLS (What will they think of) NEXT? |
| Link? |
Have unpaid interns write press releases as fake posts, maybe? |
They’re moving to size 3 balls until u13 too. That was announced in the same email. |
If they stay at 9v9, I will pay attention. Otherwise, 🥱 |
| So much jealousy can hardly contain themselves. |
lol I see what you did there |
And give the extra money? No way Mlsn doesn’t care that much about development |
Next they could stop keeping score and then have a bunch of judges pick the winner based on artistic flair. Wait, scratch that, already being done. |
Following what's being done in Belgium, Holland, Germany isn't the worst decision The people making sarcastic comments clearly don't know what's being done in strong youth development countries |
This may be the start of a gradual transition into having younger MLSN age groups play Omega ball for better youth development. https://omegaball.com/ If you can handle playing against 2 opposing teams when you are younger than playing against 1 team will seem easy later on. |
| Don’t forget that mslN is also using AI to determine games for younger ages. No more scores. Sounds like a disaster. |
Correction. They have placated parents with AI in an attempt for parents to learn the game and focus more on their kids development in aspects of the game that will help their players win more games when they actually matter (hint: not U13/U14). If they took down the leaderboards, which is the best way to develop players, they knew parents would go crazy. Not a big fan of MLS but the parent “leaderboard” watching is killing development at these young ages more than any MLS rules. |
It seems to be a success from the coaches - both club and neutral - that I’ve talked to in person. The only naysayers or skeptics are parents whose players aren’t being highlighted and can’t coast on just being part of teams that win. |
I was talking to basketball parent about it and they thought it made so much sense and was wishing they had it for youth basketball too. |
