Small enough. Those on MLSNext rosters can also play up an age group on the second team.

I honestly don’t know how sustainable all of this as well. It seemed to work ok last season but a club like Achilles only has two teams per age group and I do not think there are plans to add a third team.

Achilles will not have a growth problem for a while although they are growing. While I have no ego and appreciate their upfront and direct approach to development because they ultimately care about the kids, most parents around here still want warm and fuzzy based on them and Achilles coaches don’t kiss parent butts.

They are abusive to their players with the cursing, swearing and berating in front of teammates and strangers

If that was an acceptable or successful youth methodology, they'd be doing it at Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City etc academies

Nothing to do with kissing paying parents butts

Ahh, the Achilles FC stalker! I was waiting for you to chime in! I see you are still embarrassing yourself.

The program is fantastic. Big emphasis on player development, giving zero F’s for winning during U13 & U14 campaigns. MLS seems to agree, ditching W/L for QoP rankings for U13 & U14 last year.

It’s a boutique. It won’t draw 6 teams deep at each age group, and that’s exactly how they want it.

Since the Achilles 13's and 14's and 15's are bad on both defending and attacking and also possession , their Quality of Play rankings will be as horrible as their Win Loss records

These kind of posts are probably why you cause so many families to try the club out. It’s clear from your post that know nothing about QoP nor have a player that play in MLSNext or at a high level.

Sal the Achilles Coach and the unnamed Achilles stalker, can you guys please create a separate thread to continue to spill bile at each other and stop contaminating other threads? Thank you.

Achilles stalker, you can only wish that anyone at the club looks at this forum. Again, another post that highlights your derangement and warped sense of reality. Keep on doing what you’re doing and help the club grow.

Speaking of technical standards, is the only major change is that more subs allowed (at 3 points in a half) and players can come back in for U14 and above?

Oh it’s not Sal. Just folks tired of the same person clowning on Achilles over and over on every single thread. If this troll spent more time working with their DC instead of stalking this site, maybe they make the team.

I think that’s right, but I think players can come back in for just U14.

According to the standards:

Maximum of 24 player average per MLS NEXT team within a club (ex. U15 can have 25 players and U17 can have 23 players).

Does that mean if a team has above average roster, then another MLSNext team in the club has a below average roster?

Maximum roster is 28 player. To answer your question, yes. U15 team can have 30 but U16 can have 26, with an average 28.

I must have been looking at an old version. That higher roster is new this year though isn’t it? Explains why our roster is so high.

All u13 teams in the area have a max of 18. Have not seen one team with more than that. Anyone disagrees?

That's just game day roster. And that would be weird to be privy to that information. When DS was in U13, there was 25 designated as MLSNext players.

Definitely not the case in our experience. Alexandria had 23 on the roster.

Pros and cons with larger roster. It certainly makes practices more competitive as players jockey for a spot on a weekly basis. On our team there is no guarantee from week to week.

Some say that’s Draconian. I think it’s just life.
