Stats for Emory/Georgetown?

Or other schools in that range like Vandy, Rice etc.
DC wants a big city and we would like at least a small scholarship.
3.9UW, 9 AP's all 4's
1480, taking the ACT to see if he can do better
Debate
HCOL public Delaware.

I don’t think those stats will provide you a merit scholarship of any kind at either school. They don’t give many and only to the very top students.

Do the NPC at each to see if you would receive and need-based aid.

Georgetown likes high stats, GPA highly sensitive.

Emory. Less GPA sensitive, but nonetheless like to see a good test score.

NYU is a better fit.

Stats are not in range for merit, acceptance would depend on having very high level EC’s and strong essays.

What would need to change? And I meant the small scholarship like the 15k Emory gives, not Emory Scholars.

Agree no merit without awards and higher scores/stars.

ED1 Rice and ED2 Emory? Esp if male and non-stem non-business non pre-med.

Stats are in range for Georgetown if you apply for an easier major, such as nursing or a program in CAS. Emory is a harder admit.

He might get a scholarship from u-mass Amherst; CU-Boulder; Elon; Vermont or that level.

The T25 schools give $$$ to the superstars who also get into HYPSM.

There is no guarantee your child will get in with those stats. Counting on a scholarship seems like a stretch. At those schools scholarships are for those they think they can poach from Ivies. I wouldn't focus on scholarships.

Not saying that to be rude or mean. Just the facts.

The merit is pulling from Ivy level admits, the cream of the crop.

If male and non-oversubscribed major, much bigger bump at Rice in ED.

Waitlisted Emory RD- male, humanities 1500+, 3.8 UW, 8 AP’s- mostly 5’s, a couple 4’s, 1 3, non-feeder private. If Emory is a clear top choice and ED is a workable option for you, then odds will be better for ED1. Being male seems to help too.
