gaining 35 lbs during a stressful period of my life where I also had an undiagnosed thyroid disorder. Now I’m on a GLP (miracle IMO) and back to my starting weight of 120isg.
But part of me wants to be thin thin. I’ve never been fashionably thin like some people where almost all clothes just look great, and shoulders/arms are defined etc. I don’t mean anorexic btw. At what weight does that happen? Right now I’m right in the middle of the range for a healthy weight for my height. If you don’t believe in GLP, you can move along Anyone btdt and managed to get very thin on a GLP? |
You’re already incredibly thin! Why get thinner? You’ll only look sick as you age. |
+1. I’m 135 at 5’6” and quite thin. |
Sorry, meant 130! |
I'm 5'7 and between 125 and 130. I'm in shape and I look good in most clothes. |
Op. I’m probably closer to 5’3.5 (I always give myself a little boost) and I look thin at 120 ish but my upper body is still puffy. (Arms, back fat). |
120 is not ‘incredibly thin’ at that height |
I am 5’3’’ or so. I feel frail and too thin if I go below 124. But it depends on the person and body. OP - the problem with super thin is health and nutrition. You could do real damage of you are not getting enough nutrients. |
Instead of losing more weight, you should be lifting weight. That will tone your arms and back. |
I am 5'4" and Asian. Fine boned. At my slimmest when younger, I was 99lbs. I looked nice, because my slender frame meant I wasn't bony. My edges were still rounded, for lack of a better term.
But middle age, even when fit and healthy, distributes weight differently because skin loses elasticity and everything sags in a subtle (and then not so subtle) way. I promise that if you lose too much, you will look older and gaunt. Now I'm 45 and 120lbs. If I lose 10lbs, I will still look fine, because I have a round face. But I'm certainly not going back to 99lbs! I'm sure I would look positively sickly. So just be careful, OK? |
Also, nothing fits when I lose too much weight. I buy a women's XS in tops and skirts/dresses, and I have to take in all the waists if I get below 115lbs (and some are too loose right now). It's very annoying. |
At 116-18 lbs, I have a roll around my middle. A lot of core work has helped but I need to lose 5 more lbs of fat before I can wear any top. Per my Inbody scan, it's reporting same for health. |
I’m the same as this PP (5’4” and 118 lbs, with roll of fat around my middle and some around braline), and I work out regularly, a mix of cardio and barre classes. I think there is a trend on dcum to declare anything below 120 lbs as an unhealthy weight goal, but for some people’s body types being lower is necessary to be healthy. |
How in all the injections and rationalizations did you miss that you can’t spot reduce? You have back fat at 120 - you’re not going to look good no matter what. |
Another shortie and I agree. 120 is average. 110 would be skinny for me. |
