If your child was TO or below 1400 on the SAT, how are they doing in college?

Are they doing well?

Fine? What does this even mean? You know like 10% of kids or less get 1400+ on SAT? And the majority of colleges are still TO.

My 3 in college/graduated kids are great.

Half of the TO colleges admits do not submit scores, I am assuming they are lower than 1400. Yeah they are doing fine.

My daughter was in the mid-1300s and is graduating a year early from a T30 school. She has a 3.9 GPA. She was used to studying and working hard for her grades in high school, so college was an easy transition.

Mine is at a top SLAC(one without significant grade inflation). Currently w/3.8+ GPA after Sophomore year(mostly A’s, and A-minuses & 2 B+’s) . Couldn’t break a 1200 SAT, but did submit AP Scores(Multiple 5’s). Heavily involved in multiple activities, groups and associations at school. Just selected as a paid peer tutor for next semester. So I would say pretty successful.

1350 is 90th percentile. Don't think you need to be worried about kids with SATs above 1300 lol.

DS just graduated from Stanford this year. He is doing amazing. Has been accepted at Oxford for a master’s program.
He scored 1340 in the SAT 5 years ago….

Obviously this one brought out the insecure TO lying moms. No, your kid isn't at Stanford, they're at UMBC and struggling. 🙄

Doing well. She got into her top choice school with a substantial merit scholarship.

She’s pulling a great GPA and is quite happy. She landed well.

Mine was TO (his score was around 1130 or so the one time he took it). He is halfway done college and has a 3.0. He will probably graduate with around a 3.3 or do which was his final HS gpa.

SAT<1200 is really not a college material. Real college , that is.

Of course these kids are doing well. Schools like Stanford have been graduating sub-1400 athletes and donor-class kids all along. Remember that even under test-mandatory they reported the 25th percentile mark, not the minimum.

The SAT doesn’t really relate to performance in class. Colleges exams aren’t like the SAT.

It relates even less to performance later in life. (As me how I know.) Let it go, people.

I'm going to blow your mind.....

I got a 1240 and I make in the 1% income and have 1% with no parental help. I went to run of the mill state school too, where I graduated summa cum laude, had grad school paid 100% in a science field and worked my way up the corporate ladder.

Oh, I did get a 34 on the ACT though and was in the top 10% of my very large suburban highschool. And because of my ACT score I got 100% scholarship at my state university.

SAT is just a test. It doesn't predict anything.
