I feel like I’m in an alternate universe. But 10 yrs ago I would have laughed if you told me Donald Trump would win two terms of Presidency as a conservative republican. Strange times we are in.

Genuine question. Who has alleged abuse? I have read if one woman how said he held her should tightly. Is that the one?
What women allege abuse? The Zionist heritage foundation staffer?

That you think this is a reason to disbelieve Platner's ex-girlfriend simply reflects on you. "Believe all women," my a$$.

There is, to my knowledge, one woman who alleged abuse. Twisting her arm and yanking her out of a taxi. Is that what you’re referring to?

She also happens to have worked for the Heritage Fdn and is a self proclaimed Zionist. So, the timing & motivation raise questions when she’s suddenly, on the eve of the election going public with negative news. ALSO, the NYT reporter who wrote the Platner piece was co-president of Students for Israel at Northwestern University when the chapter won an AIPAC “Activist of the Year” award in 2009. So certainly seems like she / they have an axe to grind. He probably also drank too much & their relationship very well may have been toxic.

It's so funny that you barely, grudgingly are able to get that out. WTH cares about all the rest? They dated for 2 1/2 years. She obviously knows him and his disgusting habits well. Pretty amazing how easily you people believe any allegations against Republicans, no matter how unsubstantiated or far-fetched, but instantly dismiss allegations against a Democrat as being somehow "politically motivated." Do better.

I’m just responding to the person who said “abuse allegations from women”. I want know which women and what abuse. Folks against platner are also believing a bunch of stuff hook, line & sinker.

I mean, "folks against" Kavanaugh believed every ridiculous allegation, even the ones that were walked back. Remember that?

As for Pig Platner, all you have to do is read the NYT article, among others. All the allegations have been discussed widely here already. He referred to women as "hatchet wounds." He said that he would rape anyone who dared to break into his home. RAPE them.

Why are you so worked up about this? Are you from Maine? Do you feel personally threatened by this guy? I don’t get it.

No, they actually haven’t. There are a lot of people who are super worked up making a lot of claims. I haven’t read anywhere (except on here) a legitimate allegation of “abuse” by “women” (plural). So, where are all these allegations except in your mind?

The 3 articles all refer to the same one person who alleged he twisted her arm. That’s not multiple people. And, while it’s not awesome behavior (if it happened) it’s not abuse & I think she even said that. So, what gives?

+1

Every American citizen has at least one garbage senator representing them and most of us two. No reason to pick on Maine. Vote better.

Ngl, Platner is the perfect candidate for disaffected white men getting hammered by Trump’s price increases. He’s the guy who will “shake up Washington” while Collins’s base is the country club set who live in the expensive vacation home towns.

Sadly, Mills didn’t have much chance with the disaffected white men of Maine. Misogyny still matters

Voter bamboozled by slick politician. More news at 10.

Maybe you should direct that to trump voters b/c there was no bigger political bamboozle in our nation's history than that.

This is brilliant! Good on him. I personally don’t care for populists whether they’re on the left or the right, but if this is what it takes to weaken Trump’s stranglehold on our government, then I’m for it. I hope Trump continues to personally attack Dem candidates. It will just make them stronger

I'm a strange duck. We have houses between North Shore MA, Southern NH and southern Maine. We are a large family of adults and we all vote in our own towns.

It's been interesting.

I'm almost afraid to ask some family members, and you are never supposed to ask anyone, anyway.

Just feels like people are keeping their votes close to the vest. Father's Day will be interesting.
