It's been interesting.

I'm almost afraid to ask some family members, and you are never supposed to ask anyone, anyway.

Just feels like people are keeping their votes close to the vest. Father's Day will be interesting.

Hmmm. I’m a Maine voter having a very different experience… we’re all talking about who we’re voting for & why.

Ngl, Platner is the perfect candidate for disaffected white men getting hammered by Trump’s price increases. He’s the guy who will “shake up Washington” while Collins’s base is the country club set who live in the expensive vacation home towns.

Sadly, Mills didn’t have much chance with the disaffected white men of Maine. Misogyny still matters

+1 I thought this was obvious. This is the party’s play to bring straight working class White guys back into the fold.

Voter bamboozled by slick politician. More news at 10.

Maybe you should direct that to trump voters b/c there was no bigger political bamboozle in our nation's history than that.

Right on cue

Dang, that's good.

We The People need representatives who are willing to fight back and stomp out corrupt POSs like Trump.

I feel like I’m in an alternate universe. But 10 yrs ago I would have laughed if you told me Donald Trump would win two terms of Presidency as a conservative republican. Strange times we are in.

Yeah it’s not a coincidence but a product of the aforementioned strange times.

What are Platner’s “personal ties to Israel” that you mentioned?

Pp is just trying to confuse the issues.

We all know what platners greatest sins are. And they’re not an old tattoo or mean behavior with one girlfriend

Unless you live in Maine your opinion of him is moot and, obviously, the electorate voted overwhelmingly for him.

I don’t disagree and fwiw I would have happily voted for him if I lived in Maine. I don’t. But I find the attacks on him very troubling, including those from my hometown newspaper that sees fit to publishing a scathing piece on him almost every day for the last several weeks. You’d think he was more important than the president himself.

DP. I'm quite sure that you'd be applauding your hometown newspaper on their scathing pieces if Platner was a Republican.

Democrats finally learned how to play the Republican game: it’s better to win than to be morally perfect.

Republicans once again angry that someone is punching back.

“ Collectively, the group of nearly 100 billionaires and spouses has donated $9.8 million to the Collins network since the start of 2025, representing a third of what groups supporting Collins raised from all donors.

The total from billionaires stands in stark contrast with the fundraising of her opponent, Democrat Graham Platner, whose campaign has mostly attracted smaller amounts of funds but from many more people. Platner, who won his party’s primary election Tuesday, has received at least $24,000 from five billionaires, a fraction of 1 percent of his total haul.”

Genuine question. Who has alleged abuse? I have read if one woman how said he held her should tightly. Is that the one?
What women allege abuse? The Zionist heritage foundation staffer?

That you think this is a reason to disbelieve Platner's ex-girlfriend simply reflects on you. "Believe all women," my a$$.

There is, to my knowledge, one woman who alleged abuse. Twisting her arm and yanking her out of a taxi. Is that what you’re referring to?

DP. Compare this accusation to more extensive gaccusations against congressman Max Miller, Ohio 7, where my MAGA relatives live, who wete accusations by two former partners:

- From ex-girlfriend Stephanie Grisham (2021): She accused Miller of physical and mental abuse. Miller denied the claims, sued her for defamation (to counter her memoir promotion), and later voluntarily dismissed the suit.t
- From ex-wife Emily Moreno (2025–2026): In their contentious divorce and custody battle (divorce finalized around late 2025), Moreno accused Miller of physical abuse, including throwing scalding/hot water at her (in front of their child) and holding a gun to her. She has shared photos of alleged injuries. Miller denies all allegations, calls them false/manipulative, and attributes issues to her mental health (which she denies). Police videos and reports have surfaced, but no charges against Miller have resulted from these claims.

Max Miller is up for reelection. It’s OK for him to continue seeking public office but not for Platner?

I mean, "folks against" Kavanaugh believed every ridiculous allegation, even the ones that were walked back. Remember that?

As for Pig Platner, all you have to do is read the NYT article, among others. All the allegations have been discussed widely here already. He referred to women as "hatchet wounds." He said that he would rape anyone who dared to break into his home. RAPE them.

Why are you so worked up about this? Are you from Maine? Do you feel personally threatened by this guy? I don’t get it.

Of course you do. You were outraged about DeSantis (a Floridian), Paxton (a Texan), not to mention any Republican who rubs you the wrong way, regardless of what state they're representing. So please, cut the hypocrisy.

No, they actually haven’t. There are a lot of people who are super worked up making a lot of claims. I haven’t read anywhere (except on here) a legitimate allegation of “abuse” by “women” (plural). So, where are all these allegations except in your mind?

You can't be serious. We have pages and pages of direct quotes from the NYT article, detailing the allegations. If you can't be bothered to follow along, I can't help you. Please stop pretending you "haven't read anywhere" what those allegations are. I've even given you the links (again).

Yes, just like when Trump was running. Maybe now Democrats will put aside their tiresome pious act and realize that sometimes, the issues/politics supersede the person's character. But I doubt it.

No - Republicans are angry that people like you have spent a decade condemning people who did exactly what you're currently doing. We are pointing out your gross hypocrisy, but you seem not to get it.

+100 Another Fetterman. He pulled a gun on a black man for no reason and had a bunch of other red flags, but his fellow white people on the left united behind him as their savior to bring home the long lost white male vote. We see how that worked out.

The allegations are all from one woman. Singular. Not women.
