MY DS is exciting to do her Senior walk soon, but we noticed on the website that 0 of all teachers there and just a few of her specials teachers are there.
The PE teacher and Art Teacher is that common? I know they had very toxic principal so that could be one of the reasons..... only a few of her teachers "retired". We noticed most of them transfer schools. |
| What is a senior walk? |
| Maybe they are busy teaching or grading? They don’t have to and honestly don’t want to stop what they are doing just to witness your poopsie have her senior walk. lmao. |
They are not lised on the school website. |
high school graduating seniors to return to their elementary schools for the final goodbye. |
Like a runway? |
Pretty much walk through the school halls and they have a parade. |
| It's more for the current kids to see the graduating seniors. Creates something for them to look up and forward to. It is not unusual for schools to have high turnover. |
The day the seniors receive their caps and gowns, they go to their old middle and elememtwry schools and parade through the halls while the younger kids applaud them and teachers come out to hug former students. Then the grads pose for pictures in front of their elementary schools. It is one of the best traditions in FCPS. Our school has a lot of military kids who might not have gone to elementary or middle school in FCPS. The school hosts something for them, but a lot of them choose to go with their friends back to the elementary schools since it is so much fun. |
| You made me go looks. Same issue. I think this is what happens when you don't have decent salaries and working conditions. I say this as a parent. I do hope those teachers who are still there make it to the parade though. |
In the past, Ft. Belvoir Elementary School has invited any military senior to come walk at their school. |
They won’t. They don’t have time for that crap. |
That might be what they do. I know they do something for the military kids who didn't attend lower grades here, so they are still able to parade in their caps and gowns. My kids friends who fit that category just ho along with their friends. It is a fun, fun event. |
A tradition since when? My oldest children graduated in 2014 and 2016 from a FCHS and there was nothing formal. A few kids (maybe a dozen) went right when ESschool ended, but it was not a formal thing. |
Ours graduated in 2015 in FCPS and their class did this. |
