Why do some religious people dislike non-religious people?

Anonymous
Why do religious people feel free to say negative things about non-religious people? Do they fear that they or their children could become irreligious someday? Does it bother them that despite childhood indoctrination, some people stop believing? Or never believe?

Maybe some religious people sometimes wonder if there really is a God, but try to stop that thought. What do you think?

How do you know someone is a "none"? Do they tell you?

They're uppity and lack thinking skills. I'm sure god will teach them the way. Most likely they're just ass8holes who go to church.

Why do some atheists dislike non-atheists? Why do some of them not respect others’ beliefs and call them names based on their beliefs? Why do they use words like indoctrination to insult other people?

What do you think?

They are hypocrites
Do as I say not as I do hypocrites

I'm religious and have nothing against atheists. I have many atheist friends whom I hold in high esteem. What I really dislike are people claiming to be religous but are without appreciation for creation and do not recognize basic ethical values, i.e. pretty much all hypocritical evangelicals and people like Bannon and ViceP.

Yes, some do. Why shouldn't they?

You are taking offense of their opinions. That’s on you. Disagreeing is not disrespect. The fact that you don’t like their opinion does not make it a personal insult.

DP. You do realize PP was simply rewording OP's post, right?

My point is that "You are taking offense of their opinions. That’s on you. Disagreeing is not disrespect. The fact that you don’t like their opinion does not make it a personal insult." also applies to OP's question about religious people. Disagreement with atheists by someone who believes in God is not necessarily disrespect or something to be quashed. It also doesn't necessarily signify that a religious person deep down fears the atheist might be right.

It could - I can only speak for myself - but if PP is right about the first quoted PP's post, PP is also right about OP's post.

Yes, wasn't that all obvious?

Fear. Indoctrination. Uppity and lacking thinking skills. Hypocrite. Ass8hole.

Not simply disagreement. No discussion. Personal insults and disrespect.
