My point is that "You are taking offense of their opinions.  That’s on you.  Disagreeing is not disrespect.  The fact that you don’t like their opinion does not make it a personal insult." also applies to OP's question about religious people. Disagreement with atheists by someone who believes in God is not necessarily disrespect or something to be quashed. It also doesn't necessarily signify that a religious person deep down fears the atheist might be right.
