| Does anyone have a DC who has attended or will be attending this school? We are looking into it as a possibility for DD. Stats--3.5GPA; probably test optional. 3 Sports Varsity level all 4 years. Loves the idea of a sport school. Doesn't love emo vibes. We are liberal but DD hasn't fully formed her politics and probably wants to stay away from very political schools (small liberal arts type). Would this be a school to consider? |
| OP again, GPA might be below 3.5 when all is said and done. |
You are not liberal if you are even considering this. Wth is wrong with you sending a DD to a state like Kansas? ZERO medical care ZERO. Shame on you and you are literally stupid. |
Because not everyone can go to NoVa state schools. |
Maybe. K-State is red and mainly for ag types. Although your DC will find their group, since it's big enough Choose Kansas University (KU) instead. It's blue and has something for everyone |
Do you really think that people move to Kansas for politics? WtH is wrong with you? People end up there for jobs, just like almost everywhere else in this country. |
| Check out Kansas University. It’s a cute college town, has the sports atmosphere. Fun school. Fly into Kansas City and drive there. |
| This may be old info but: it use to be KState and KU had very exact requirements, high school courses required to be admitted. There was a performing arts credit/class or some elective my DC didn't have, and she was a senior and couldn't add it, which meant those schools were not going to admit DC. They were not flexible. DC called and spoke with admissions. Had the GPA and scores no problem. Again, might be old info. |
Get bent, Dobbs dork. |
| K State is an ag school, but it always ranks well on the Campus Pride Index, and Manhattan is a small blue dot in a sea of red. Kansas voters also voted to keep abortion legal in the state, so it’s not quite as crazy as people think. KU still might be a better fit, as Lawrence is a bigger (not big, but bigger) town, even more solidly liberal, and closer to Kansas City. |
+1 You either want your daughter to die or are have clinically low intelligence. |
Dobbs dweeb. |
| Kansas State has plenty of a mix of liberal, moderate, and conservative students and alumni. It's more midwestern value - where not everyone is a liberal! Most professors are able to help students look at ideas in an objective manner and add their subjective ideas. Students are taught to write well, and critically think about their subject. It's a great place. A proud alumus. /// Kansas has more moderate values, than one would assume. |
Why would she die? |
| Kansas State has a 90% admit rate, so pretty much anyone will get in. It's easy to get, but a bit harder to graduate. But seriously, an excellent school. Planning department attracts a lots of Ivy League grads for proffessors. |
