How did it go? I work long hours and don’t have time to exercise but need to do something to get the weight off. |
Diet determines weight, exercise determines body composition. You can lose weight without exercise, but it has other benefits. |
Lost 40 lbs so far. I took a new job that I couldn’t keep up with working out at 4am. I’d like to get back into the routine but right now working 12+ hour days in the office with 4 kids hasn’t given me the opportunity to pick it back up. |
Any weight loss without exercise can lead to muscle loss. I recommend at least trying to fit in a few sets of pushups and squats throughout your day, and going for short walks.
I lost 50 lbs on the meds and did monthly body scans at my doc throughout, and saw a big difference in the amount of muscle loss on the months where I didn’t work out and eat enough protein. |
You will just be a gross skinny fat |
Lost 60 pounds on Ozempic. I don’t exercise |
Yes but you will have extra skin. |
Do people keep the weight off after they stop the meds? |
It works. You don't need to exercise. |
You will lise bone and muscle mass. This includes muscle mass in your heart |
You will lose weight but also muscle mass. This is bad in the long term. But being obese can kill you so overall it's good to just lose it how you can.
You can do squats and wall presses almost anywhere. If youre sedentary like me, set reminders to get up and walk a lap once an hour. Drink a ton of water (as you should in weight loss) and you will be getting up to pee anyway. Do a few squats etc every time you get up. Something is better than nothing. |
Of course not idiot |
I read doing 10 full squats every 45 min at work is as good as walking X miles. So I use a timer. |
Don’t listen to these people. Everyone who loses weight on GLP1s without exercising looks like a flabby wobbly bag of meat. The muscles melt off and you just jiggle and gel. You need exercise to firm up the tissues and shore up your muscle health and bone health. 20-30 minutes a day is enough. Like the other poster said diet is to lose weight and exercise is to maintain the weight loss and has other benefits. Get out there and exercise!!!! |
I have, but I'm VERY mindful of what I eat, and I do weight baring classes at the gym. |
