they would have made it back to the Elite 8 again this year if those players stayed. Now Richmond gets to go to playoffs and nobody from the group last year goes to playoffs.
That team wasn’t going back to the elite 8. That was a fluke. Go watch the recordings while they are still available.
If players left it was probably for a good reason.
They were sold that they were going to be part of the best winning team at BSC, amongst other things, and believed it. Sadly now they know different. They're packing up again.
We were not sold on a winning team as no one can promise that but we did think we would win more. We didn’t believe in the college placement at FVU. And since BL, NM and ML has left there has been zero players going to top level schools or power 4s. There was a 15-20 year history with those coaches of top college placement. So check back with us in 6 months to compare college placement.
Despite it not being a great season the BSC 10 team is still far better than the FVU 10 team. In the meantime BSC has been adding talent to their current roster while FVU coaches and parents have been refreshing the ECNL website every Saturday and Sunday trying to be first to find out the latest Bethesda results.
At some point the BSC obsession has to stop. And quit the Elite 8 talk as well.
Too funny. "In the meantime BSC has been adding talent to their current roster'. Again? After the same failed strategy this year?!
Good teams add talent every year. Not doing so is why FVU had to beg their way into a showcase. Don’t get upset because the FVU 10s is no longer the desired destination it once was.
Everybody knows the FVU team was royally screwed by a few who bailed 2 weeks before start of season so there was no opportunity to add talent at that late stage. Given their circumstances FVU actually did far better than was anticipated. But BSC on the other hand - what is the excuse there? Stronger team but their worst season ever?! How?
Keep making excuses. Not being able to retain those players came down to a bad culture within that team and a management blunder. If your house was truly in order then you wouldn’t have had so many people leave at that ‘late stage.’ Especially after an ‘Elite 8’ finish.
Stop all the whining about being royally screwed. The team lost players but the arrogance remained. If the FVU team was as good as the parents and club advertised then it should have just been a next man up situation. Getting this emotional about a few departures is just ridiculous. And while some are stuck being emotional the truly elite teams are adding talent.
😂 Adding all this talent and still losing?
Bruh you're the only one sounding highly emotional. Sorry it's not working out on your highly talented team.
You’re in season genius, we can all feel your stress. FVU knows its fate. All your elite talent and BSC could still be shut out from anything in Seattle. I’d be highly emotional too; what a waste of a season potentially for BSC10’s. Reap what you sow!
This would not be the first time in the history of sports that a team with elite talent didn’t make the playoffs. This is what happens when your team plays in a strong conference.
So what is FVU’s excuse? They didn’t make the playoffs while playing in a VERY weak conference and are now showcasing 60 miles from the main fields in Seattle. Does the stay to play even apply once you get out into the rural parts of Washington like that? Will the parents be purchasing ECNL playoffs swag?
Is Pipeline what makes the NA so strong?
Pipeline is a playoff contender in the MA. But guess what team isn’t?

Is Pipeline what makes the NA so strong?
Pipeline vs. Hex vs. Wilmington vs Fusion, why are we discussing who's the worst?
I think the two conferences are fairly comparable.
BSC has definitely had some strong results this season, but they’ve also dropped games to Mid-Atlantic teams, including Courage. On the other side, FVU has had some questionable results as well, including a loss and a tie against teams like Arlington and NC Fusion. At the same time, FVU did win its only North Atlantic matchup of the season against PDA Blue, a team that is headed to playoffs.
Some notable MA vs. NA results this season include:
Charlotte SA vs. Ukraine: 1-0
Charlotte SA vs. Penn Fusion: 1-3
FVU vs. PDA Blue: 2-1
Richmond vs. FC Delco: 2-1
Richmond vs. Penn Fusion: 1-3
VDA vs. Penn Fusion: 0-4
NC Fusion vs. Pipeline: 4-1
Bethesda vs. Richmond: 5-0
Looking at those results, CSA, FVU, NC Fusion, and Richmond have all picked up wins against NA teams such as Ukraine, Delco, PDA Blue, and Pipeline. From the NA side, Penn Fusion and BSC appear to be the only teams with wins over MA opponents, with most of those results coming from Penn Fusion.
If you take Penn Fusion out of the conversation, and I think most people would agree they are likely a Final 8 or Final 4 type team this year, the NA hasn’t had a ton of success against the MA overall. Some of that may be due to high school seasons not lining up, but these games were spread across December, January, and March, so it is hard to attribute everything to timing.
At the same time, I don’t think the MA can definitively claim to be the stronger conference either, especially when some of their losses to Penn Fusion and BSC were by four or five goals. But I also would shut down the statement that the NA is the superior conference when FVU beat PDA Blue, who finished 2nd.
To me, this does not point to one conference being clearly stronger than the other. It looks more like two fairly even conferences, with Penn Fusion being the one true standout across both.
