Honestly this whole discussion about genocide is a trick to turn our attention away from the DEATH and DESTRUCTION Israel is inflicting.

Have any of you been to the Bekaa valley? I (a Jew!) travelled there in 2003. I took public transportation everywhere (they had a great mini bus system) . No one was anything but lovely to me. The land was beautiful. The antiquities plentiful. The food amazing.

My friend’s in laws live there. Why? They are not Hezbollah. But the Lebanese banking system froze assets in the banks a year or so ago and they no longer have access to a lifetime of saving for retirement. So they sold their apartment in Beirut and bought a cheaper place in the countryside. Their new town is getting bombed. They are well educated, non extremists.

Israel is lying when they say they are targeting Hezbollah only.

Israel is lying when they said they are attacking as defense.

Israel has been evacuating residents from the north since June. The Lebanese have been predicting war since.

The attack is premeditated murder.

Of course Hamas committed atrocities. Of course Hezbollah should not fire into Israel. But what Israel is doing to Gaza and Lebanon is horrible. And why we call that out is that our tax dollars are funding it.

Arabs are not the enemy.
Persians are not the enemy.
Muslims are not the enemy.
Extremist are the enemy and they reside in Israel too.

As an American, I’m ashamed that we fork over money to Israel year after year and allow Jews to murder and dispossess their neighbors. They are the bigger terrorists.

I, also Jewish, disagree.

I have close family in Jerusalem and Haifa.

The problem is on 10/8/23, Hezbollah started to fire rockets and missions into Israel. The day after Hamas attacked.

Israel did not bomb Gaza until 10/13 and attack on the ground until 10/27.

So why did Hezbollah shoot missiles into Israel on 10/8.

It’s because they are Terrorists. Hezbollah control all factions of the Lebanese government. Hezbollah is essentially Lebanon. You can’t separate them.

So after me enduring one year of misdialed from Hezbollah. Israel has every right to attack them them back and destroy Hezbollah.

The fact you are defending a terrorist group who has killed Americans and will cheer when many more die, is insane.

I hardly think attacking a terrorist group and killing their members is hardly premeditated murder. They are still attacking and launching missiles every day.

This group has a charter to killing Jews, has been launching missiles into Israel for 1 year (8000 and counting), has killed Americans.
There will never be peace with Hezbollah until they destroy Israel.

So, yeah, I’m good with Israel’s Self Defense by attacking Hezbollah.

It’s not all Jews. Netanyahu is the Dick Cheney of Israel. Both have dreamed about a U.S. invasion of Iran since the mid 1990s. Of course their kids aren’t signed up to fight so they don’t care who dies.

It should be mandatory that leaders that desire war have their own kids on the front lines first

Hezbollah is the one using self defense. They were minding their own business on 10/7 uninvolved with what Hamas did and Israel decided to bomb them out of nowhere while the motorbikes were literally still en route with hostages who didn’t even enter Gaza yet.

Israel wants Hezbollah gone more than they want Hamas gone clearly. Hamas is necessary for Israel to avoid two state negotiations. The absolute worst nightmare for Israel is what Americans and the Arab regional neighbors want which is the Palestinian Authority/President Mahmoud Abbas taking over the Gaza Strip and two state solution talks restating.

The Palestinian Authority actually won the popular vote and exit polls in the Gaza 2006 election but Hamas won more seats in Parliament and took over by force. Sound familiar? The whole point of Hamas is Israel does not a Palestinian state.

Yasser Arafat once said Hamas was an Israeli tool and he was right. Everybody in Gaza knows Hamas are at the very least millionaires with Israeli money because Israel wants them in power. Haniyeh failed by becoming too friendly with American negotiators and signaling he supports a ceasefire and coexistence with Israel on 1967 borders. If he remained a hardliner instead of moderating, Israel wouldn’t have killed him this summer.

The Gaza population and West Bank population are declining. The West Bank is becoming more Israeli. The settlers have like 10 kids a piece and no jobs

Palestinians in the West Bank actually cross jobless settlements to go to work in Israel

The settlers don’t have to fight unlike the rest of Israel in war either. Their only job is to be breeder colonies.

Because they aren’t agreeable even with Israelis due to their extremities, they live in the margins outside of city Limits. They should be forced inside Israel to be breeder colonies over there. I don’t understand why they necessarily need to be in the West Bank to increase the Jewish population unless Israel doesn’t believe the West Bank should become a separate state

Here.

Hezbollah attacked Israel on 10/8. Israel did not attack Hezbollah. Israel was still recovering from 10/7.

You are just plain wrong to say Israel attacked Hezbollah first. Just plain wrong.

The bolded are NOT TRUE.

Israel started bombing Gaza on 10/7, shortly after the start of the Hamas attack.

By 10/8, hundreds of Palestinians had been killed in Gaza, including many, children and women. Entire multi-story residential buildings in Gaza had been destroyed by then.

Also, Hezbollah did not fire rockets into Israel on 10/8. They fired into the area known as Shebaa Farms.

Both Syria and Lebanon consider Shebaa farms as Lebanese territory. Shebaa Farms is NOT considered Israel by almost the entire world.

In response, Israel fired into Lebanon and wounded several people. Therefore, Israel fired into Lebanon BEFORE Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel. They fired into what almost the entire world view as occupied territory that is not a part of Israel.

The situation with Shebaa Farms is more complicated than you’re making it out to be.

The U.N. certified the border. Lebanon and Syria claim its Lebanese territory, but the UN did certify the Israeli pullout.

UN certified the withdrawal of Israel from Lebanese territory in 2000. But the UN did not state that the Shebaa Farms area is a part of Israel, and they have never stated that it is Israel. The UN views the land as Syrian; Syria and Lebanon view it as Lebanon.

I don't think anybody besides Israel and the US, view it as Israel.

Any statement that Hezbollah fired into Israel on 10/8 or that Hezbollah fired into Israel before Israel fired into Lebanon is incorrect. Because Shebaa Farms is not Israel. It is only true from the Israeli perspective. But the UN and Lebanon have a different perspective on what land is considered Israel.

Just a point to the bolded - the UN certified the withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon, not the border. Shebaa Farms is still considered occupied territory by the UN, but occupied territory belonging to Syria. So they certified the pullout of Israel from *Lebanese territory*, even though Israel did not pull out of Shebaa Farms.
