Wanna start this thread early? Some predict 3-6 inches- still early but…. |
Tuesday/Wednesday no school. |
They should announce now that the Dcps pd day will be Wednesday and have school Friday instead. |
This week will be an extra special nightmare for so many parents given RTO. |
Yep, which is why Friday’s pd should be cancelled/ moved to one of the snow days. |
As of Sunday afternoon model predictions:
Wednesday is the only day you can count on to be closed. Snow is supposed to accumulate Tuesday night into Wednesday. It may fall all day on Tuesday, but is not expected to accumulate because of warm temperatures, so maybe schools will be cautious and early release, or just cancel after-school activities on Tuesday. Monday models will hopefully bring more clarity into the timing of onset. Don't know about a delay on Thursday, where we're expecting some sort of wintry mix precipitation - if it's cold enough to freeze whatever's not plowed... maybe it will ensure a delay. |
The same way decisions should not be based on surrounding school districts whether DCPS closes or not should not be based on workers returning to the office (who by the way should have been back for YEARS). |
I predict open as usual on Tuesday, delay or closed on Wednesday depending on snow totals, and open on time on Thursday.

If DCPS opens on Tuesday it will be with no aftercare or after school activities. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are closed Tuesday, it’s supposed to start around noon. |
I’m hoping we have a half day so it counts… |
DC is getting at the very least 4 inches during the night on Tuesday into Wednesday. Wednesday is sure to be closed. |
We will be open. I want to discuss the pending traffic problem starting tomorrow
|
Early Release Tues
Closed Wed Open Thurs |
No way thats happening. There are too many on-site PD locations across the city that cannot simply be moved on a moment's notice. |
Bowser should be considering the surrounding school districts because the MAJORITY of DCPS teachers work in those surrounding counties, meaning that just because it's safe in DC proper, roads are dangerous elsewhere. No one should risk their lives to get to work, but Bowser doesn't seem to care about employee safety. |
