Trayon White was arrested for taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes for violence interrupter contracts, which suggests the city council is intimately involved in the management of the program. Also makes you wonder if any other city council members were taking bribes. There's never just one cockroach, is there? |
If you'd like to increase the number of "business friendly" (that's the euphemism we use) politicians then please elect Vincent Orange and Jack Evans. They have a track record of giving back to the business community. And taking from them too! |

I live in Ward 4 and I won't be voting for Janeese. She's been totally absent when it comes to dealing with the PETRA developments (aka slum lord dwellings) that are crime hot spots. Countless emails, request by ANC reps and residents are ignored. Ditto with the tennis court debate. Multiple requests to hold a town hall were ignored. No up to date information given, never showed up to an ANC meeting (it's on zoom, so easy to make a quick apperance.) In all fairness, though, she is much better than Brianne Nadeau who is way worse!!!!
Politics aside, her job is to help Ward 4 residents with their problems, not just help with the problems she deems important. Also, I feel like she was not forthcoming about her role in the tennis court negotiations or her relationship with the owner of the tournament, Mark Ein. Not a good look and she won't be getting my vote!! |
And you think McBowser will be a step up? You're going to be surely disappointed if you think you have trouble getting traction with Lewis George and expect better from the other option. |
Any reasons why? Or are you just the person Janeese assigned to anonymously trash Kenyan on DCUM? |
Hi, not assigned by anyone. Just sick of the green team promising the sky then giving us crap. Bowser has been a huge disappointment so I'm not interested in her hand picked successor. |
It's hard to see how anyone could be worse than JLG when it comes to constituent service. |
| Ward 4 resident again. Not sure I like any of the choices so far. I only know that I won't be voting for Janeese |
Same along with my entire block. |
So, DC could have a more competent mayor if a good chunk of voters weren’t so xenophobic / racist? |
DP but I think you'd be hard pressed to find any city that would elect a person mayor fewer than 5 years after they moved to town. Race may be a contributing thought but he wouldn't win a mayoral election if he were black either. |

Too bad. DC is a transient city and if candidates have to have lived here their whole lives to be deemed legitimate, then the pool becomes very small. |
The guy isn't running for Mayor. That's his choice but you're blaming voter racism for a person who isn't a candidate not getting votes in an election that hasn't happened. Try to focus on solutions instead of whatever this is. |
This posters here seems to be mainly partisan hacks. It's hard to have a reasonable conversation. |
That's what this is. |
