List of 2025-26 Tuition Costs

Anonymous
Hi! We applied to private schools this cycle and I saw Sidwell’s 2025-26 Tuition Costs posted in a different thread. Since tuition increases range, it would be helpful if current families at other schools could submit their 2025-26 tuition costs as they’re notified in this all encompassing thread.

Thank you!

Bump. Now that it’s closer to February, can you please share if your school has reported their 2025-26 tuition costs?

Someone commented on an old post (https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/210/1110251.page) and I didn’t realize it was outdated until later.

I am also eager to see what Sidwell and Maret’s new tuition is.

This is publicly available information. Look at the schools' websites.

The schools don’t post the newest rates, 2025-26, until later but inform the families late Jan/early Feb. So if you would look at the websites, you’d see that 2024-25 is still displayed.

I understand there are a lot of factors like enrollment, but applicants should know the tuition costs for the year they are applying at the time of application. Not when contracts are given in March. I digress

Sure, in an ideal world, but schools simply don’t know in September when applications open exactly what their tuition will be set at for the following year. If you assume about a 5% increase from the current year, you’ll get pretty close - or be happily surprised if the increase ends up being only 3%. But it’s going to go up every year. You can also look at the website to get a sense of where costs increase as grade levels change, and that’s important to be aware of too, if you have a younger student. The same k-12 is going to a lot more expensive in 10th than in 3rd.

When you are comparing tution, make sure you understand what is covered, what's a required additional cost, and what's an optional additional cost. Think things like transportation, books/computers, lunch, activity fees.

It is interesting they don’t incrementally raise the pricing or lower elementary school. $58K is a hard pill to swallow signing up to start in 3rd grade with intention of going through HS. It would make me want to hold off as long as you could in public before starting.
