It’s very diverse. In every grade they have a handful of carefully curated poors.

That is a terrible way to speak about people, let alone children.

I agree it’s a terrible way to speak about kids, but they are just jealous that the poor kids there on FA are most likely objectively smarter than their own full-pay kids.

Most likely faculty kids. Who may or may not be smarter than yours. In my experience, smartest are evenly distributed between FA and full pay, same does for the dumbest.

Too many terrible things to say about this country, but, unfortunately, they are True no matter how politely you say it.

It’s a full 50k more than we paid at a well-regarded k-2.

I have no doubt it does provide the value. I wish it were cheaper but I’ve never laid awake at night wondering if I’m wasting my $$$. I would do at -$10k in most schools that are not NCS, STA, SFS. Maybe GDS

And what an awful name. Who is going to a school called Bully?

we did and then some, for each year our DCs attended. we almost left in middle school because the middle school principal is awful and has destroyed that division of the school. and yet some how the head of school keeps her on, in spite if all the complaints from many parents over many years. middle school is not worth the $$s for the education, but can be as effectively buying an option on the excellent upper school

We weren't in the MS (0nly HS) and I heard the division head wasn't strong. Personally, I think it's time for the HOS to move on too. The current culture and tone of the school is so distant and with attention and favors highly skewed to the uber wealthy/powerful families. It's mostly done behind the scenes (this is where creating that "distance" helps a lot) but it's quite apparent over time. It's really a shame. The overall experience for kids and families in the HS varies widely.
