History will remember him well |
So sad...but he had a really good run! |
RIP sir! Thank you for serving your country |
So sad but what a life he lived.
|
He's with Rosalynn once again. RIP. |
RIP and thank you.
Hopefully the President-elect keeps silent for once. |
A great man and an incredible legacy.
New to the area. Wondering if public schools will close for the funeral? |
RIP to a great man and soul. |
Federal Gov closes but not schools. |
They didn’t for George HW Bush’s funeral. |
He was the best former president the country has ever had devoting his life to helping others across the globe. |
Maybe if he had waited a couple of weeks. |
Yes they did? I’m not sure if you are saying schools don’t close (they don’t). Or the government. Trump declared a national day of mourning and most Feds were off (including me). Timing will be interesting with most Feds of at least through Wednesday and use or lose. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/national-day-of-mourning-closings-federal-offices-united-states-postal-service-stock-markets-closed-for-president-george-h-w-bush-funeral-wednesday-2018-12-4/ |
I’m not sure why this makes me so sad given his age and health and the death of his wife. It was his time. But it does. Maybe because Dh’s family has deep GA roots and reveres him. Maybe because he was the last president who chose true public service, rather than self enrichment, after leaving office.
May his memory inspire us all to focus on our families, our communities, our faith, those less fortunate than ourselves and to make political disagreements less toxic. |
Will Joe still go to Rome with the pending funeral? |
