Trump asked the judge to tell him how to fund SNAP legally. The judge appears to have ordered 'find the money'.

Trump needs something a little more explicit so he can deliver the funds, and then use the same reasoning to deliver funds to other programs.

It is the president’s job to lawfully execute the laws congress has passed. The funds are legally available.

If Russ Vought has suddenly forgotten how to apportion legally available funds then he needs to be fired. They can also
Lawfully transfer tariff revenues to snap just as they did for WIC and plan to do for farmer bailouts.

The amount of law breaking they are doing to fund military salaries and other things they WANT to do but have far less legal basis while playing dumb on SNAP is insane.

My understanding is that they have billions in the contingency fund which is good through September 2026. My understanding is that prior USDA and OMB policy and guidance authorized use of the contingency for SNAP during a shutdown.

They are trying to claim otherwise. But here's the thing, even if the Republican lies were true and they can't use the contingency fund for SNAP, they could authorize it in Congress. Oh wait, no they can't, because Mike Johnson refuses to convene the House.
