Yet another anti-Black incident. And yet the white and Asian Wootton parents want to insist MCPS's response is overblown and these are isolated incidents.
This is sad. |
| The kids are raging with anger. So many are ticking time bombs. Wake up, people. |
| That is a ton if detail in that letter. I’ve never seen that before. |
| This kid sounds really troubled. But what is MCPS supposed to do with him? Unless he's sent to a criminal juvenile facility, they are just going to send him to another school, right? |
+1 I'm guessing it wasn't a black student since they included the N-Word fact. |
Why are they raging with anger? |
You get fired otherwise |
I can't think of a single incident of anti black violence in the lakelands before the anti-black initiatives. It's almost like you've given immature, violent boys a target to rebel against. |
Why do you think anti-Asian hate is OK? |
Does this even fall under MCPS? The students involved attend an MCPS school but the incident occurred after school, off school property. Doesn’t this just fall to MCPD and the parents of the injured child? It’s great that the principal sent out a letter informing the community but not sure what more the school can do. |
Yes, I appreciate it. Our school had a bomb threat with a lockdown last year in the middle of AP exams, and parents had to pull teeth to get info from the Principal. |
Wondering why as well. Maybe because both are Lakelands students and the incident was egregious (racist and used a knife). On an aside, I an shocked the perp is so young—only in middle school. |
Where did I say that it was? |
If it involves an MCPS student attacking another MCPS student, then yes, it is a system concern because those two would have to occupy the same space in the school, even though the incident occurred in the community. You all have to stop acting like MCPS should be blind, deaf and dumb to community incidents that impact how kids show up in the school building. The criminal or legal implications of the incident are for MCPD or the courts to deal with, but MCPS must be informed and RESPOND to incident to ensure the learning environment remains safe. |
