Ensuring second child is a boy

Anonymous
For a variety of reasons I won’t go into here, we are hoping to have a boy as our second child. We don’t think we will need IVF but of course we don’t know if that is the case because we haven’t started trying yet. Are there any ways to tip the scale in favor of having a boy? I’ve heard about the Shettles method. What about sperm sorting?

No. There isn't.

Unless you genetically create a male embryo, there is no other way. You ca read 1000 ways to conceive a boy online and try all the various tips and tricks - but none are guarantees. Sex is genetic and about chromosomes so unless you create a male embryo - then all you can do is increase the odds (slightly)

People think the stage of life they’re in the hardest. They’ve forgotten about the sleepless newborn nights, the impossibility of getting anything done with a 1 year old who has to be watched constantly, etc.

What about being happy with the baby whether it’s a boy or girl?

If you want a boy and only a boy I wouldn't try. If it is a girl it sounds like you will treat her differently and she will know you don't love her.

Is your first a girl? Is that why you want a boy?

Don’t try because if you end up with a girl, you won’t love her and you deserve children.

No. Do IVF.

You shouldn't try until you're happy to have whatever you get. What if its a girl and has special needs? Or twin girls?

This, but for either gender. If you only want a daughter or only want a son, you shouldn't try for a child because there's no guarantee. And there's a certain amount of maturity needed for parenting, the absence of which can be seen in a focus on the ideal family gender makeup of your dreams and treating anything else as a mistake or problem.

So if you get a girl are you going to discard her?

I feel bad for your children.

You can terminate right up and through the 9th month in DC and in NJ, if you want:
