We don’t think we will need IVF but of course we don’t know if that is the case because we haven’t started trying yet. Are there any ways to tip the scale in favor of having a boy? I’ve heard about the Shettles method. What about sperm sorting?

What about being happy with the baby whether it’s a boy or girl?

If you bring a girl into this hellhole of a country you suck as a parent.

What do you not understand about project 2025 and the Save act??
What do you not understand about no more immunizations???

What do you not understand about no more Florida on water?

No one should be brining any child in much less a girl !

I will agree only to the extent that someone as mentally unstable and extreme as you, PP, really should not reproduce. Or adopt. Ever.

Lol. People on DCUM are the worst. You want to shift your chances towards one sex or the other? How dare you! Most people have a preference. I would have preferred a girl but my boys are the light of my life.

It's only a n of two, but Shettles worked for me. I wasn't trying to conceive boys, but I have VERY clear signs of ovulation and a VERY regular cycle. We had sex the day before ovulation for the higher chance of pregnancy and had boys twice. I think it's the only thing with any reality to it, but most people can't really be as sure of their timing because ovulation is usually hard to track. You could try to get a Dr to prescribe the meds that induce ovulation (I forget what they are called) but I doubt they'd do it and your chance of twins is 1/100

Sperm sorting seems pretty effective, though not perfect.

I knew about Shettles 30 years ago and if you follow his logic and suggestions, aiming for a boy is much easier than aiming for a girl.

Basically Shettles believes a boy is more likely right at ovulation, and a girl is more likely if you have intercourse several days before ovulation (then abstain for a bit).

Well, common sense says it's easier to predict something that is happening right now, rather than estimating when something might happen in several days.

I did the basal temperature method for a year before we tried to conceive, so I was very aware of the morning my temp dropped (if I remember correctly), then I think it quickly raises. If you conceived, it stays raised.

I was mainly hoping to improve the odds of conception, not necessarily try for a particular gender, but I essentially followed the boy recs for quicker conception, conceived the 1st month and had a boy. Repeated 2 years later and had a 2nd boy.

I wouldn't have had the patience to try for a girl, where you stop intercourse 5 days before predicted ovulation, then if no conception after a few months, move to 4 days prior, etc. That could take a year.

Years later, in my 2nd marriage, we decided to have a baby and just went for it. I wasn't doing basal temps anymore, so I had no idea of any ovulation timing, and again I conceived 1st month and had a girl (I realize I am extremely fortunate with fertility).

This was before ovulation predictor tests, so I have no idea if those are as accurate as monitoring basal temps.

IVF with PGT is the only reliable way to pick the sec of kids.
