I'm from Philly, now in DC with one in the IAC and one in the WCAC. Most years, I'd agree generally (though not as obnoxiously - I've been out of Philly too long I guess) that Philly metro has higher quality than the beltway - they tend to play more Canadian, hard hitting style than here, a lot of Philly CYO kids play football, hoops and lax and feed to the Inter-Ac or private Catholic league schools, and overall their top teams are usually better than here. This year, though, I can't say that's true, or it's a lot more mixed. Malvern is just really good as usual, Haverford (my AM and where a few friends' sons play now) isn't as strong as usual but still really good and EA is also looking really strong, but there are really only 3 good Inter-Ac teams this year overall and the rest are pretty average. LaSalle is always good, and Philly suburb publics are damned good, much better than any public in the beltway.

BUT I think this season, PVI, Bullis, Landon and GP on any given day can run with any of them, and definitely not routinely get blown out. I also think Zaga is a lot better than their record - they've played a brutal schedule. And StA is surprising - a great goalie will do that. Oddly, SJC isn't a power it seems. Interesting year across the mid atlantic.

Eh…. Credit to Bullis for the Haverford and Spalding wins, but those wins are looking less and less significant every week. We really won’t know more about Bullis until they play Landon on 4/17. Their schedule until then is a bunch of cupcakes. Though I won’t be shocked if EHS gives them a scare.

EHS is the gut check?!? The only scare there is that the Bullis goalie will be caught asleep on the live stream.

We’ll see. Bullis is better, but EHS usually sneaks up on someone every year.
