Doesn't look she lost a single strand. It's definitely not a wig in the video. I don't understand how that's possible after 9 months of chemo. |
Only 65% of people lose hair during chemo and 25% gain weight.
I only know this because my friend did not lose her hair, but she gained a lot of weight and she was very Surprised. |
Depends on the chemo treatment |
Not all forms of chemotherapy cause hair loss. She hasn’t said what she received. |
She's been wearing wigs for years. Why would she stop during treatment? |
How do you know she isn't wearing wig or extensions? |
Her hair looks much thinner. |
1- Not all types chemo make you loose your hair
2- My best friend did the cold cap and lost no hair. |
+1. Cold cap is a real game-changer. |
There are different types of preventive chemo, emphasis on the word "preventive" which would probably be less onerous than chemo that's designed to attack metastasis. For example, something like tamoxifen won't cause any hair loss at all, or have many other side effects for that matter, which is why it's typically taken for five year. |
Kate probably had a very short course of traditional chemo, plus a more prolonged (maybe lifelong) targeted immuno-therapy for her cancer. It's not the hard-core course of traditional chemo people usually think about when the word is used. My friend had a similar treatment and didn't lose a hair. |
I suspect she has had hair extensions for a long time. |
Cooling cap |
My friend did 6 months for pancreatic cancer and didn't lose her hair. It depends on the drugs. |
+1 She’s been wearing wigs for a very long time, and also as others have said, not everyone loses hair. |
