I get the money part I'm not a dummy. I have to think there are many teams looking to get in ga. There are many good e64 teams or non affiliated rl teams that are probably better fits. Wouldn't hurt GA to be more selective and stop with geographic wins. Eg last year was downtown united in NYC. It's more of a landmark location but the teams aren't very good |
| Are geographic wins a bad thing? Let's just hypothesize for a second. If they're trying to lay a geographical blanket for their bigger picture is that a bad thing? People have been suggesting that this is going to lead to a homegrown style system similar to how MLS functions, MLSN has a pretty large number of teams, can't blame them either as you would want a big umbrella. Can't invite everybody, but whoever is getting on the train first will be a few steps ahead. |
| I guess we'll see. I can say with certainty, good teams don't want to travel long distances to " geographic " hubs to play a bad team. Don't cannibalize the top of your league with weak add ons for geography purposes. 8-0 or 9-0 games are a black eye for the league. If they want geographic landmarks in big cities but the teams aren't high quality, it ruins the league reputation. GA is not as big as a draw as ga may think. Teams won't transform overnight with an influx of top talent at the next tryout. There's only so much high caliber players around. |
Been observing the past couple of years, and it appears that both ECNL and GA/MLSN are trying to gain ground in the Great Plains area and the north west. This is a geographical battle more than it is a college recruitment battle. The pieces are being set to play the long game |
Again, so how does ECNL promoting an entire sorry conference from ECRL help them. Two sides |
cause GA is a low level conference. they are picking off the lower lever rl teams,. dpl teams and ecnl teams who are getting the boot. they don't care about quality, its all about quantity |
ECNL just promoted an entire RL conference to NL… Those families costs just went up another 1000 or so dollars. And you are saying GA is adding quantity over quality? |
There's 10 or so MLSN + girls ECNL clubs across the nation. Let me explain how the GA conversation will go with theses clubs. "Put your girls teams in GA or we'll demote your MLSN teams to MLSN2" And clubs will do it because boys ECNL is that bad. And I don't mean bad from a competition perspective. I mean bad in it's ability to make $$$ for clubs. |
And on the other side there are about 10 clubs with GA and boys ECNL. Who will play hardball there? ECNL or MLSN |
This type of pressure already exists. The only situation where I see it actually being an issue is Top Hat. Apparently Atlanta is weird likely because they're an island away from other cities. GA + MLSN are likely focused on these type of clubs. |
Is 9 to 0 games not happening in ECNL. Lol. Its public information feel free and go to website |
That where at least the USYS promotion/relegation system got it right for its National League -- although now they're adding similar programs to compete with the other elite leagues (E64). |
| Oregon forum is suggesting that a few clubs that were just promoted from ecrlb to ECNLB now have mls II |
| Another DMV boom coming shortly |
One that we already know about? |
