Help with macros: Keep eating too much fats and carbs

Anonymous
I am aiming to increase protein and fiber while lessening my carbs and fat intake. When I look at MyFitnessPall my always go over my carbs and fats. I can't seem to eat more than 80g of protein a day!

Today, for example I had the following foods:

Breakfast
- 1 egg
- 6 tablespoons of egg whites
- 1.16 oz avocado
- 0.5 oz baby kale
- 1 slice of sourdough bread
- 3.81 oz blueberries
- half a cup tall whole milk latte

lunch

- 3.17 oz baked flounder
- 1 package of riced cauliflower and brocoli

snacks:
- 1 banana
- 1 cup Nounos mixed berry yogurt

How can I decrease fat and cardbs?

Just focus on protein and fiber. Let the carbs and fat fall where they may.

I’ve loosely tracked and I often was going over 50g of fat by a little bit. And never getting to the carb level. Now I’m just trying to focus on fiber and protein.

Agree. I also don’t see from what you posted how you’re possibly going high on carbs and fat. You’re not eating much. Like, I can see why your protein sucks because you have maybe 40g here total, but your carbs and fat can’t possibly be that high when you shows an 800 calorie a day meal plan.

Zero protein in that snack. Add a cottage cheese (19g) or high protein yogurt (25g) to get more protein

Your carbs look fine.

I prioritize carbs and protein in my diet. As such, fats are bare minimum for me. I maintain a weight of 125 and am athletic. What I would do: ditch the avocado and whole milk in breakfast. Add in nonfat Greek yogurt and protein powder. Idk what 1 cup Nounos mixed berry yogurt is. Is it high protein yogurt? If not switch to oikos or two good. It is the best protein/calorie ratio for yogurt. Ditch the muffins (don't know calories but probably high). Add in yasso ice cream bar. What is the fat ratio on organic dark ground turkey? Only eat 93% fat ground turkey.

Best low calorie protein/calorie ratio: nonfat greek yogurt, egg whites, 93% lean turkey chicken or beef, protein powder (mix with yogurt), shrimp, scallops, fish. Get this sorted out and then fill in carbs/fats

A banana is a high carb, low value fruit. It's really only good for the potassium. I get that they're tasty, and you won't get fat from them, but since you want to reduce carbs, I'd swap them out.

Adding that I wouldn't worry about carbs at all. I only focus on two things at a time - usually calories & protein. I let the rest fall where they may.

I would swap the sourdough for a high fiber/low carb wrap.

Cut the banana and have berries instead.

Muffins swap for something like a yasso bar or a Kodiak muffin if that’s the snack you are craving, or a low sugar protein shake.

Personally I don’t think a latte with whole milk is worth it, I get the same satiety with regular coffee and a splash of heavy cream for less carbs.

Beans and rice are obviously high carb but have benefits, however if it’s the ideal for you to cut carbs I would switch that to a leafy green like sautéed kale or a salad.

Yogurt like Fage or ratio may give a better macro balance for your desired outcomes as well.
