I feel like CC is the next huge sports celebrity. She has elevated the WNBA. Huge endorsements. Wonderful personality. Massive star potential. She could be be first female sports star that truly sits equal to the very top of male sports stars.

Like she could be an MJ, A-Rod, or Messi. Love her.

I also greatly admire the way she's dealing with the massive amount of negativity thrown her way in her rookie year.

Yeah I wasnt a fan before but seeing the constant negativity she's faced within the league and how she's risen above it has turned me into a fan.

The actions of other players has really given me a negative perspective of the WNBA. Not the physical play so much, I can recognize that is part of the game... but more so the whining, name calling, complaining, obvious jealousy, high fiving when they rough CC up. All that work her whole life for this?

I’ve followed her for years and she’s genuine. Super competitive and prickly on the court but generous and thoughtful off the court. And I love some of her past and current teammates like Kate Martin, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, too.

It sort of makes me sad though, that there has to be a female villain. (I know no one has brought that up here, but I'm pretty sure most people think of the villains when they think of CC.)

There could be a spirit of camaraderie and playing for the love of the game, but, alas, people are making different choices.

No one cares and the effect on the wnba has already started to wane.

The only reason ESPN pumps it so damn much is because they have a contract.

I guess giving CC some endorsement deals checks DEI boxes for corporations. It is what it is, nothing more than lazy requirement to be met.
