The Post wins award for Beidleman coverage

Anonymous
The Post pulled Alexandra Robbins off the story, with Robbins having to complete her reporting in Moco 360. And The Post then submits the reporting for an award.

Alexandra Robbins and Nicole Asbury won in the Non-Breaking News category for their revelations of sexual harassment allegations against a Montgomery County principal.

Congrats to Joel who still has his teaching license!

It's a shame Alexandra seems to have gone dark. I was hoping she'd continue to expose MCPS with more reporting through MoCo 360.

MoCo 360 has most of their coverage produced by interns or people just out of college. I'm sure it's due to budget constraints, and those writers do what they can, but it's not the level of a seasoned journalist like Robbins.

For example, all the MCPS budget aritcles lately have never stated hard numbers on spending per student now versus a few years ago, nor looked at enrollment. It really puts MCPS's claims in perspective when you see enrollment is down and spending per student is up, but they threaten to lay off so manhy teachers over only getting 99.2% of their funding request (yes, I know the situation has changed in the past few days)

Moco 360 was smart enough to pick up Robbins reporting after The Post dropped her. That left Nicole Asbury chasing Robbins' stories.

I wonder what she's working on now.

It was a series of deeply researched news coverage, requiring Robbins to gain the trust, and accurately record, the painful, detailed experiences of teachers who were abused and lived in fear of losing their livelihood. That Robbins captured their experiences so well, and with sensitivity to their trauma, speaks volumes about the reporter that Robbins is. God speed to all the women who have been abused.

Good job while they humiliated Beidleman’s children as well. Reporters are scumbags too.

Joel humiliated his children all by himself.

Hopefully all of your indiscretions are exposed to your loved ones as well.

Indiscretions? No. Joel abused women. Joel is an awful person and I hope his ex-wife has the strength to parent her children on her own.

This isn't just a story about Beidleman. It's the story of a sick organization that protected an abuser, and promoted him, and then tried to cover up that fact. Many people, including the superintendents, knew about the complaints against Beidleman, and they did nothing until Robbins reported the story.

Should he lose his license over a woman scorned? She got what she wanted 💰
