I'm sure it's due to budget constraints, and those writers do what they can, but it's not the level of a seasoned journalist like Robbins. For example, all the MCPS budget aritcles lately have never stated hard numbers on spending per student now versus a few years ago, nor looked at enrollment. It really puts MCPS's claims in perspective when you see enrollment is down and spending per student is up, but they threaten to lay off so manhy teachers over only getting 99.2% of their funding request (yes, I know the situation has changed in the past few days)[/quote]
