| A student attacked the driver and attendant this morning on the bus. Was violent enough that they needed an ambulance. Must have been terrifying for everyone on the bus. Let’s see what mcps says about this, if anything. |

| What’s up with these W schools? |
| Any more info on this? |

Contact MoCo media if they are covering it.
Contact your cluster bus depot. Probably school will do some Restorative Justice Probably school will do something "according to Student Code of Conduct", you know. |
I know right? What are they doing in the W schools that keep these things from happening only 1/10 as much as in east county schools? |
Or, could it be there aren't as many east county parents on dcum and they don't jump to this forum to post incidents? |
If the bus had an attendant it makes me wonder if this might have been a special needs student which is obviously totally different from needing restorative justice. It is terrible for everyone involved if this happened, but have some compassion rather than voyouristic interest in finding another way to criticize people for things totally outside their control. |

Our child attends Churchill and we haven't heard anything about this yet.
I would be careful blasting before details come out. It's truly horrible in any scenario, but Churchill has a significantly large special needs population who takes the bus, so I wouldn't rush to judgement about the nature of the attack or attacker quite yet. Still, I hope the driver is ok. That's terrible. |
| There are 3 special education programs at Churchill: Bridge, ARS, and Autism Services. If there was an attendant on the bus, there's a good chance it was a bus for the special education programs. |
Correct on both points: fewer problematic home lives and wealthy-skewed representation on this forum. |
| Hope ALL involved are ok. |
No excuses. I have a 19 year old with special needs who spent K-12 in MCPS and he has never been violent, physically or verbally. Aggression is aggression, no matter the cognitive and emotional state of the perpetrator. It needs to be addressed appropriately. Also, because public school systems, including MCPS and DCPS, have often trotted out this term after acts of violence: "Restorative Justice" is not justice for the victims. |
Every incident is in the news or social media one way or another. The W school situations have increased significantly over the last few years. |
This, the assumption that special needs kids are all violent is absurd and they are no more violent than other kids. Reality is part or much of it is also parenting. |
