What cuts do you know of at specific schools?

Anonymous
Can folks share anything you know about cuts/staffing reductions at specific schools? Please include the name of the school, number of positions/FTE cut, and anything you know about the actual impact of the cuts and how they will be implemented.

(I know similar threads have been locked, but we now have permission to keep this post up, as long as we keep it tightly focused on intel about cuts/impacts at specific schools. All other discussions about the cuts should go in the general thread on cuts.)

Einstein HS - losing 1.6 FTE

Summarizing the principal's email: reduction of staff only applies to classroom teachers based on actual enrollment. Admin is working to make adjustments "without losing any additional staff" so that could mean removing a course or changing teaching assignments.

These are all from this week. Many schools already lost allocations earlier this year with some people still waiting to be placed before this new round of cuts.

No idea if these numbers include the 0.4 the SDTs will have to teach.

A quick primer on what these numbers mean? I don’t understand how a school can cut 8 tenths of a teacher.

1.0 is a full time teacher. Every .2 is a class they teach. A .8 teacher teaches 4 classes instead of 5.

When you look at the budget, it includes ~5-6 FTE for various teacher positions that aren’t classroom based (staff development, focus, career etc.) These are part of the allocation that principals get and have flexibility on how they are used. If a school is saying they lost 1.2 FTE, that would include the SDT allocation decrease.

Can folks also list schools that did not have any staffing reductions this week? I know there are some; mostly elementary schools I think.
