| Boys planning to reclass in the fall often play down the prior summer, either permanently, or on a trial basis. For example MadLax has players on their 2025 and 2026 teams who are already playing down, even though they will not actually enter those classes until the fall. Presumably it is allowed because NAL runs a tight ship and had no issue with the MadLax players. |
times change. so what if vlc coaches, vlc dir totally knew and supported players playing down beforehnd.. if they planned to cheat if thats what you call it. well known beforehand because 26s was short some of their best players. nobody got caught as vlc lost anyway and any punishment would be on their reputation. whatever the situation vlc 26 parents seem to care though |
The latest issue is that 2027 has a parent coach making questionable personnel decisions. Plus the usual MadLax stuff: (1) oversize rosters; (2) no coaching of fundamentals or player development; (3) bringing in re-classed and outside players, pushing existing players to the bench or DMV for certain tournaments. These factors always cause a few players on the middle or bottom of the roster to leave MadLax, which is fine, but this coming tryout cycle may involve some top players leaving as well for VLC, NL, or DCE. |
Those are all the characteristics of a top team |
A number of 25 players were asked beforehand if they'd play for 26 at NAL. Some refused, some said yes. Right before the tournament, VLC sent a request for volunteers to the entire 25 team to play for 26. I know for a fact that some 25 players did play for 26 at NAL. Maybe you just didn't notice them because it's hard to recognize kids when they have helmets on. It has even occurred at HoCo that some 25s played for 26 when 26 was short. I was there, I saw it. |
| You almost sounded credible until you said that kids played down in HoCo. Never happened. Maybe your are confusing VLC with MadLax and Cavalier? |
This is crazy (if true...I have no idea). Why didn't they just ask for volunteers from the 2027 team so they could stay on-age? |
(shrug) No, definitely VLC. But I saw it happen. I also saw some 2026s sub in for 2025s at a HoCo game, so there's that. Though most consider "playing up" to be no big deal. |
| You can go the video app twitch and see a recording of the game with 2025s playing on the 2026 team for NAL. Checkout commonwealthlax for yourself and dial up Tigers game. VLC parent videos all games. Not going to blame 2025 kids for playing and getting extra reps. |
| If somebody wanted to watch film of a 10-0 game from two weekends ago, how would they know the class year of all the players on the field? And, how would they know if the players intend to repeat 8th grade in the fall? |
CONFIRMED just look at jersey numbers, 25 players can been seen on field and team bench on video at NAL. |
A middie for sure is from 2025. Wow! |
You have issues |
I checked out the video you mentioned. Impossible to tell who is who. But if so say so I guess you know more than me. By the way, what is the point of this discussion. What is your agenda? |
His obvious “agenda” is to say that cheating is wrong. What is your agenda that you have a problem with that? Are you a MadLax parent who is coming into this thread to defend cheating so your team doesn’t look as bad “because everybody does it”? |
