Good question. How much did it cost and how much is this appeal costing?

People should sign up to speak at the next school board meeting to demand that the principal, coach and all his hangers on be fired. Also let Dunne know. He is the only board member who seemed to care about this scandal.

The cost of initial 400 hr investigation, including the outside attorney that did a final review (of the garbage in/garbage out collected materials), the first appeal, the second appeal, the $19k per kid that should not have been registered, any fees to additional coaches outside of HS average… sure more to add up any list builds up quickly.

Honestly if Reid was snowed on this with materials she was provided, she has to be fuming.

Clearly the staff tasked with this did an unbelievably half-asses job. Makes you wonder how they perform their regular dutires.

The thief/"team mom" (who is not actually the parent of a player, but an Overton groupie), sent a message out saying the team will be updated tonight at a "team dinner".

Hayfield owes a huge apology to all those band/dance/cheer seniors who were not honored on the regular senior night.

Questions from a parent/FCPS taxpayer/FCPS staff member not at Hayfield....I've followed most of the thread and most of the major articles, but not all of the random social media posts and comment sections. Could someone bring us up to speed on these questions?

1) Overton was running a private business on school property in PW, right? Is he still running a side gig coaching kids for pay?

2) Has anyone investigated whether he is requiring his current players to also pay to be coached by him privately? Are his current recruit/transfer players all also hos paying clients? (I mean, we are not allowed to tutor current students for pay. It would be very disturbing if coaches were allowed to take private clients from among their own rosters...a pay to play scenario)

3) Has he used school property for any of his outside/private coaching?

4) had Reid or the principal or anyone official commented on the retaliatory actions against the whistleblower who first reported the improper use of homeless registrations for kids? That in itself is SO effed up.

5) My understanding is the new team "mom" (also a new FCPS hire) was accused of collecting money outside the normal FCPS finance channels, where money would be turned into the school and kept in an account for the team. Whatever became of that? I can't even keep $5 a kid turns in for a field trip in my locked desk drawer overnight, but she had a Venmo going or something?

6) are there still claims that kids are getting bussed home to PW every night, or have they all actually moved here?

According to the Fairfax County Times article, the VHSL stated "nine of these ineligible transfer students being included on the Hayfield FY2024 Outdoor Track Master Eligibility List (MEL)".

Hayfield won the boys National District Track and Field Championships over TJ.

Just wondering if any of these ineligible transfer students scored points at Districts, Regionals or States for track?

Nothing. Every year at Hayfield, ALL the seniors are honored at the same football game.

This year, they only honored the football players, some of who' got long resume speeches from the coach. No time for the other seniors! Their night had to be postpone to the first playoff game. Coaches and Hayfield admin KNEW there might not be a playoff game.

Letter from VHSL

Knew them rednex down there were going to uphold.
It’s going to be Oscar Smith now.

Idk. Battlefield is strong and could be the last team standing. I actually think Battlefield had a better chance of winning it all than Hayfield.

As a fan, I was looking forward to seeing Hayfield, Battlefield, and Madison clash with the best Richmond, and Tidewater teams. It’s a shame that the haters had to get involved.

A lot of non Hayfield people were looking forward to those matchups. I do believe it all would've remained under the radar if the team moms hadn’t stated fighting. If the one team mom had given up her position quietly and accepted the new team culture, we would be none the wiser.

But now her kid gets playing time in the postseason for SoCo. So I guess she’s having the last laugh as they say.

"New team culture".

Thank you mom for speaking up.

Yes, thank u Karen

Nah cuz he on team but don’t play, lol
But question is if this team mom left Hayfield and the son now attends SOCO n this WHOLE thing is about football, what’s happening with that, because it’s obvious she moved her kid for. Same reason there coming after Overton for, or is this being overshadowed

Everyone wants to keep blaming this one mom. There were MULTIPLE people who came forward. Even had a letter from FCPS coaches about this mess. It’s about time he faces some consequences. He should be fired and so should everyone who allowed this crap to happen. That superintendent is a joke and made the county the laughing stock of Va. For everyone say buy the kids…those 20 something knew what they were doing and knew it was wrong.

That poster has a point. That kid went transferred to south county for the sole reason of playing football. They need some type of discipline as well.

Stop acting stupid. The kid was being bullied by you Overton minions. You know it. It was not a transfer just for football. The fact that you are obsessed with one mom who spoke up speaks volumes about you. Get therapy. [/

Go figure, bullied because mommy said so, Karen didn’t get to be team mom and little Johnny now won’t be given a spot because he is not good enough, let me go tell and say these things happened n play victim.

No, grow up and welcome to this thing called real life where things are not given but earned. I swear some folks are pencil pocket pushers

Football at our enormous FCPs is no-cut. Were kids cut from this team?
