part and parcel of this whole f*n mess of TX.

Yeah, I’m in shock at all the rich liberals moving to Austin. It’s still in Texas!

We need to start arresting the shooters parents and charging them with murder. And not just the ones who bought the guns like the Michigan parents. ALL of them.

Anyone has a link to the whole press conference?

Not how any of this works. How did we become a nation of morons?

1. Assault weapons are legal in Texas. Ammunition is legal in Texas. Open carry is legal in Texas.

2. An 18 year old is allowed to purchase assault weapons and ammunition in Texas

3. Parents — with few exceptions — are not criminally or civilly liable for the wrongful acts of their adult children

4. The shooter’s family were not co-conspirators accessories before or after the fact. In fact, the grandmother was herself a victim.

5. Murder generally requires a specific intent known as “mens rea” unless it qualifies as felony murder.

i think one thing that is being overlooked is the complete inaction of faith leaders here. they have incredible sway with many and their silence is deafening. they sure carry on about abortion but not this.

He's so fake. You can see the fake sincerity on his face, and as soon as he's challenged, the demon behind the mask comes out.

Can’t decide which is more apropos:

“To know Ted Cruz is to dislike Ted Cruz”

Or

“Why do people instantaneously dislike Ted Cruz? Because it saves time.”

Then there’s the take of the inimitable Al Franken —

Here’s the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz. I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.

I don't know how to post it but there is video if him making bacon by the heat of firing an assault weapon. He calls it "machine gun bacon". Google it if you want to vomit.

Only fertilized eggs are sacred lives in America. The christofascists don’t care about dead kids because they claim “heaven.”

The majority of Americans want stricter gun laws. We are being led by the short and curlies by a powerful gun lobby and the senators who are getting their pockets lined by them.

It is utterly ridiculous. Nearly everything else in the bill of rights has reasonable restrictions. I can't go around doing whatever I want in the name of religion (even if it is a true belief). We have freedom of speech but there are restrictions on that too. There are plenty of restrictions on the various amendments in the bill of rights. There is no reason why we can't have restrictions on guns

When you thought things couldn’t get worse. Just seeing a report that officers entering what was initially described as a “barricaded” classroom door — after getting a school administrator to unlock the door — failed to engage and neutralize the gunman before calling out to survivors. As a result, a boy who has been hiding under a table for upwards of an hour was shot by the gunman. In a classroom with windows that could be surveilled in real time. WTAF.

No, half the country already knows what the gun lobby and NRA are about and the pull on politics.

The other half are either stupid or support the lobbying because their right to own guns and assault rifles is more important the born-children's lives.

The NRA is on life support. A victim of mismanagement, greed, infighting, conflicts of interest and self-dealing. It lost the services of a communications juggernaut. It has a bankruptcy dismissed because it was filed in bad faith. The Russians pulled the funds that used to be laundered through the organization. It’s a paper tiger.

New reporting by WSJ that police taser Ed a parent who tried to collect his child as they were being evacuated and led to buses. While I can appreciate the need of law enforcement to account for all students through a controlled reunification process this is some bizarre Bull Conner bullshit.
