Another gunman, another elementary school

Heartbroken.

All I have to say is a big F you to Republican voters. You are monsters with blood on your hands. How you continue to live with yourselves every day is unfathomable. As long as someone else's kids are dying, you do not give a sh$t. I often wonder what makes you human.

Arlington police said they do not believe the man had any malicious intent and that he was there to pick up a child."

Another good guy with a gun … in violation of Texas law prohibiting guns on school grounds compounded by an accidental discharge. We are truly a nation of morons. I’m sure he received something approaching a stern talking to.

The gun lobby in the US pulled the wool over so many peoples eyes. They are paying politicians to keep the gun laws the way they are. Lax. It does not have to be this way. The majority of Americans want stricter gun laws. We are being led by the short and curlies by a powerful gun lobby and the senators who are getting their pockets lined by them.

He's so fake. You can see the fake sincerity on his face, and as soon as he's challenged, the demon behind the mask comes out.

Can’t decide which is more apropos:

“To know Ted Cruz is to dislike Ted Cruz”

Or

“Why do people instantaneously dislike Ted Cruz? Because it saves time.”

I know people who do like him and would think him courageous for walking away. Because to them, asking those questions is a “political agenda”.

Funny thing is, the people I know who support Cruz and gun rights are the same ones saying this is due to the “mental health” and “family values” crises. But if you ask them how much money we should allocate to provide free mental health and family services in an effort to prevent shootings, they flip out because they don’t want the government taking more of their money.

I don’t get it.

Then there’s the take of the inimitable Al Franken —

Here’s the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz. I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.

Owning the libs is their platform. They crave the disapprobation for validation.

You nailed it. They say, they are for family values and then elect Ted Cruz who allowed the presidential candidate who cheated on his wife, to humiliate his own wife nationwide. Unless TC agrees that his wife is really ugly and there is nothing you can do about it.

Joe Garcia, the husband of One of the heroic teachers, Irma, just died of a heart attack.

The ripple effects are starting to show. This is going to be trauma for so many for so many years and here we see another death.

If nothing comes back from NCIS the purchaser simply gets to walk out with the gun and unlimited ammo in a few minutes in most states.

Then there’s the related issue of ensuring that background checks can be completed by the FBI within three days if a sale is flagged and all relevant mental health and criminal information is accessible.

Tons can be done, starting with outlawing assault rifles and high capacity clips, and also raising the minimum purchase age across the board.

Im sorry, but these are matters of post-Heller and MacDonald jurisprudence under the Second Amendment. The Supreme Court will not outlaw assault rifles. The Supreme Court will not raise the minimum age of purchase to 21. The Fourth Citcuit already has invalidated a prohibition against handgun sales to anyone under 21. They will have a harder time with restrictions on high capacity magazines. Bans for untraceable ghost guns are already being challenged as was the banning of bump stocks after Las Vegas.

Unrestricted gun rights is something that will keep Clarence Thomas snd other Federalist Society fanatics on the bench for years to come.

This. Unless the Supreme Court decides to overturn precedent and restrict rights that it previously acknowledged, legislation here will not withstand challenge.

Oh wait.

Well then we are lost because those FS judges aren’t going anywhere.
