| SIAP but are there any articles that talk about breakthrough cases for the 12-17 age bracket? |
is it heart related? did he get the first dose yet? You aren't allowed to ask vaccine questions here, but Twitter has tons of good info. I would follow Marty Makary, John Mandrola (a cardiologist) and Monica Gandhi, Stefan Baral, and there are many pediatric cardiologists weighing in. I imagine it's not a risk factor but I don't believe the kids who got myocarditis from the vaccine had risk factors. |
Seriously, are there any Dr’s or immunologists here who can say why a 120 lb 5 foot 10.5 year old past puberty should not have the 30 mcg dose? |

Hi, it's your "needs anxiety meds!", "feel sorry for her kids!," "basement-dweller!," "coronalarmist!," "delta-worshipper!" OP. I have stayed away from the board for a few days because there is too much denial bullshit, and even this thread, because I can't stand the derailing bullshit, but here's a news article for you.

At a Children’s Hospital, a Wave of Young Patients Struggling to Breathe A federal “surge team” is helping exhausted doctors and nurses through one of the most trying periods in the history of Children’s Hospital New Orleans.

I feel you OP. It's a lot easier to call you crazy than to acknowledge we are dealing with a beast of a variant. People are tired and just want it over, so easy to shoot the messenger. I'm alarmed to see how full ICU beds are getting in the Twin Cities. We had under 88 cases a day in late June. Today was 1900 and pediatric beds are getting scarce. It's concerning. |

| Does anyone know of a good dashboard that would show the number of available pediatric ICU beds available in a region? This is one of the data points I will use to decide whether to withdraw my kids from school and homeschool. |

Most recent AAP data on hospitalizations: Hospitalizations / covid cases for kids = 0.9% for the most recent week, and for states reporting. Note that it was between 1.0% and 3.8% between May 2020 and Dec. 2020. So it was WORSE then. |
About the AAP hospitalization data, I posted, on the first page of this thread, so exactly one month ago:
The numbers have gone up by a lot in the 08/26/2021 report compared to the 08/19/2021 report that you linked. The hospitalizations-reporting states are starting to see the steep increases that the non-reporting states have been seeing. https://www.aap.org/en/pages/2019-novel-coronavirus-covid-19-infections/children-and-covid-19-state-level-data-report/ |
