When is the Delta variant supposed to hit?

This is exactly how people started talking about initial Covid!

Yep.

My guess if that they have been in contact with others who have traveled out of the area into the Covid states.

Yes!! It's just spreading quietly right now, and no one wants to get tested.

I’m not sure why people are refusing to believe this is possible. There are still other viruses out in the world. I mean, my whole family has this cold right now. We felt pretty sure it wasn’t covid since my husband and I had identical symptoms to our kids and are both fully vaxxed. But we tested to be safe. Negative. And according to my kids’ pediatrician, there is something going around that they’re getting tons of calls and visits for that is not COVID……which they know because they ARE testing.

It is not spreading around! DH and I, and DS had a terrible cold, at the same time many, many posted here about it. And it has a cough, but a productive one. It goes away in about 5 days, but the chest congestion stays a bit longer.
DS got it working at a resort in Delaware, DH visited him, then I got it from DH.
How do I know it is not covid? DH and I were tested in the nick of it, I was idiotically tested 3 times! For travel purposes. All three tests over 4 days negative. DH negative.
We are all vaccainted.
Stop fear-mongering!

To wit, Israel recently reinstated an indoor mask mandate due to a wave of new infections. Apparently some 70% of those new infections were caused by the Delta variant, and about half of those cases affected people believed to have been fully vaccinated with Pfizer. Sure, the vaccine may prevent hospitalization and death, but infection still is quite possible, and there are long-haul symptoms that may endure for those who are. It seems likely that the rush to return to normalcy will bring about another waive, which could very well affect the vaccinated as well as unvaccinated. At this point, probably best to proceed with caution, as it's clear (in this country, anyways) each of us is on our own.

Beware, people. this is the fearmongering pp of the thread that was taken down. None that she posts is true, she wants to mask everyone now (and forever) and lock us all up if "needed" soon. Infection is not quite possible for most of us here, there are mostly super mild cases in those vaccinated.
Plus Moderna just published their results against the Delta variant and it was very effective.

What experts have said that?

If your reading comprehension is that poor, then probably you should just do what the experts say.

+1
I’ve only heard the opposite.

They do. And they won't stop until we are a totalitarian state.

They can all just move to Ontario. Where we have people doing yard work in their own yard....masked! And where we are afraid of it to death... people worse masks outside yesterday at almost 100F!

For the first time in weeks, I noticed an increase in people wearing masks at the grocery store this morning. Still plenty of unmasked but I wonder if people are just being more cautious due to Delta.

Very curious what thread or post you are referring to was taken down? I am not the PP you quote, but I am equally shrill, and it wouldn't surprise me if you believed us to be one and the same. I don't see anything I posted that was taken down.

The covid cases in the US are 20% of the Delta variant currently. Right now it is doubling each week. So, next week Delta is estimated to be 40% of the cases. The week after that, Delta will likely be 80% of the cases. So, it is predicted by the end of July, Delta will be the dominant variant in the U.S. We shall see if this pans out...

Pp. --correction. It is doubling every two weeks. Not every week.

This goes with my pp about the cases of Delta projected to double every 2 weeks in USA.

It's starting to hit now. My colleague's 92 year old father just contracted COVID and died. He was fully vaccinated, but I guess it was a breakthrough case.

The CDC is purposely trying to limit the data before we even get it. Why?

Because the tests can pick up dead virus in vaccinated individuals, that has absolutely no effect on them, nor is enough to be transmissible.

I'm sick. Our clinic refused to test me because I was vaccinated. So, we will not have accurate numbers. I have many of the symptoms.

The same happened to my husband. At Cvs the nurse actually asked him why he was there getting tested if he had already been vaccinated. 😤

Who is paying for all these tests you guys insist on after being vaccinated? You think they're free because you aren't paying out of pocket? Guess what? We're all paying for them. So just stop.

+1000. Have you seen the test sites that are popping up in places like Georgetown and Bethesda? They look like freaking spas. Who the hell do you think is paying for your "free" tests?

Lmaooooooo you have no idea. I’m a nanny in LA and my bosses are so wasteful and entitled, for the past year we’ve been doing multiple tests before play dates or before the mom got Botox or whatever. She thinks they’re all freeeeeeeeeee

It was about Isreal masking where you or the other pp were insulting everyone and ordering people to help the "poor" by masking and possibly locking down when needed.
If you recognize that you are "equally shrill" is it maybe not the time for you to start wondering what is causing your issues and if you have kids just how much harm are you causing to your children?

Very sad, but was he ill with covid like symptoms?
In fact, in Canada, the news is all about a 90 year old and another 80 year old fully vaccinated who died... from covid, yet the very same articles and videos say that they had no covid symptoms at all.
While even their medical experts just announced that fully vaccinated people can hug! and spend time indoors unmasked. Where did your colleague's father live and how did he get it?
