For a boy, loved Rupert, Everett, and Gideon.

Do you live in the UK?

No, live in AZ, but relatives are British.

I also loved Bryony (also relatives from British Isles). It fell of my list when someone said it sounded like Brian-y. I just realized its just wouldnt go well in America

Now expecting a girl and totally stuck on names.

You can totally name a girl Logan!

Logan is an airport. Not a boy or girl name.

And a city in Utah.

It is awful. Might as well name the kid Apple or North.

Logan doesnt bother me too much. To me these (all top 100 names) are worse:

Girls: Harper, Addison, Brooklyn, Kinsley, Everly/Everleigh
Boys: Easton, Greyson/Grayson, Hudson, Brooks

I love this thread.

Didn't use Lincoln, Milo, Isla, Ronan, or Sadie. And won't again because I would then have a super hipster crew and that was never the intention.

Graham - Last name starts with Ma sound so it sounded like Grandma
Victoria - I absolutely HATE Vicky and while I could prevent her from being called that while young, I have no say when older

Evie! Man I still love that name. There's probably 3 others in my DD's 1st grade classes so I'm glad we didn't use it. But sigh.

Others:
Vera
Zara
Claudia (random, I know)

Boys:
Rocco

We know a little Victoria who is Vivi. Which is very cute!

My parents passed on Victoria for me because they also hated both Vicky and Tory with a passion. They settled on Sara, a name that generally is not shortened or turned into a nickname.

Lena or Lana. My BIL named his baby an L name that was too close to both of those.

that was the runner up name for my first daughter (she's now 15). It is not used as a proper name as much as a nickname, but I was really glad that wasn't the name we went with when I found out how many people were using it as a nickname for their kids (mostly evelyns)

Parents name their daughters after the Everly Brothers?

My sister is an elementary school teacher and we have uproarious conversions about the latest wacky names for kids. She likes to mispronounce them on purpose when chatting with parents. Yes, partners, the teachers DO talk about your kids' names behind your back Laughter is a great stress reliever.

Didn’t use Desmond (DH vetoed) and I still love it.

Everly was the 43rd (4590 births) most popular name in 2020; Everleigh was 94th (2799 births). Taking the two spellings together they would have ranked 15th most popular!

While I have zero issue with a teacher talking about the kids' names with her family or letting off steam about families, this is incredibly mean! I would suggest your sister go get a massage and find better ways to blow off steam than doing something that is generally considered a bullying technique.

Yes I think it's a combo of Evelyn and Genevieve being the full name. I think for one of the girls it's her given name. I still love it though.

I still like it too - just glad I didn't use it as my daughter's given name at this point It didn't even make my list when my second came along since it was such a popular nickname.
